Grand Cal Availability

I was lucky enough to get VGC this year for 7/8 - 7/15 1BR at the 7 month mark (I think I walked it for 2 days). First time we stayed there so I have no idea how difficult it is but its definitely possible.

July and August in a 1 or 2 BR is your best chance because of the high points chart. Local owners do not like going in the summer.

We've owned for a bit over a year and I've been super-lucky to book VGC twice-- once for a week around Easter (which I had to cancel, arrrgh) and once for a partial week in August (about two weeks from now). Always helpful to be a bit flexible on days if you can (bit of a tough spot there, OP) and utilize the waitlist (our Aug trip we were able to add a night via wait list). But like HIRye said, both of those are high point times...

FYI we have been able to get 7 nights in both the studio and 1 bdrm prior to Covid. But we did walk 2 months out for them.
If you cant walk, then my next goto would be to rent points from an owner, then rent my own points out to someone else, the delta between the 2 will be small for the peace of mind and the joy of having a room there.

Wow, walking 2 months out - that’s perseverance!

Yeah I could walk but we are only staying 2 nights and the front end of the trip and another 2 nights at the tail end of the trip so it would get eaten up. Need to start and end with Mickey 😀
