Has anyone ever stayed at the grand beach resort in lake buena vista before? If so, how was your stay? I got a really good rate of $500 for a week in a 3 bedroom.

a couple of posters here have stayed there - so far no one hated it.

unlike other timeshares it does not have a long list of things to do.

we have stayed 3 or 4 times and have liked it..

I love the fact its a tiny resort with not much to do... I dont want lots of pool activities etc all the time.. and we can go back to the apartment if we need something to eat.

The 3 beds are huge.. with two master bedrooms, and a room with two single beds .. three bathrooms and a large open plan kitchen diner/living space.

The decor was looking tired when we were there a few years back and its not been refurbished since then.. (as far as I know) so i suspect its more tired than ever now.. however.. thats a great rate and its a lovely resort in a great location with a huge apartment.
I guess it depends what is important to you..?

We stayed there last Sept and ended up buying a timeshare there. We are going to be staying there again this Sept. We loved the amount of space and how quiet it is. It is set back off the main road. There are 2 master suites with king beds and a small 3rd room with 2 twin beds and 3 bathrooms, washer & dryer. We stayed in phase 1. We liked it better than the newer phase 2 which was actually a 2 bedroom with a lock-off 3rd bedroom. The phase 2 lost a lot of space in the lock off because there was another living area. Our only complaint was the carpet was dirty. There are new owners, Diamond Resorts, that purchased right after we were there last Sept. Hopefully they have done some refurbishing since we were there last.
I don't know when you are going but if it's after us I can let you know how it is this year.

im going next week, and i am hoping they have renovated. If not, its okay...I mean for the rate that I got, who could complain.

My most important tips for a good stay at Grand Beach:

1. Check in early so you can change room locations if you get stuck overlooking the electrical substation.

2. Only turn right onto 535 to keep near death experiences to a minimum.

3. The cleaning crew stole a $30 hairbrush from our room. Keep anything of any value locked up during the one weekly cleaning visit.

4. Choose the top floor if you don't want to hear chairs scraping against the tile floor above you.

5. Choose any floor but the top floor if you want to be able to see out from the balcony while seated. Top floors with sloped ceilings have 1/2 walls in the screened porch.

6. Expect parking to be very tight on some nights if you get back late. We had to park far away from our room on a few nights.

7. Check out the hammocks and the entertainment around the pool. Also, the pathway along the pond makes a nice walk in the morning.

8. My favorite building is building one, furthest from the noise on 535. I try to get a room overlooking the fountain and pool.

I really like the resort. The traffic on 535 can be awful, but I just love the size of the units and pretty lake location.

Thanks for the tips! I glad u told me that I could request what building and floor I wanted, because I probably wouldnt have. And about your brush getting stolen, do they have a safe in the unit anywhere? And what unit did you have, because I am going to have a 3bed3bath. And also what were the bathrooms like, because I was told all the bathrooms have a roman tub, is that true? Thanks!

It has been a while since we stayed there, but there is definitely some sort of big tub. Two of the bedrooms have big bathrooms and the one in the hall is probably small. I want to say the tub is in the bedroom (which I dislike) but I've stayed in too many timeshares. They all sort of run together.

Be aware that the third bedroom is very tight, and the living/dining/kitchen area is also not very spacious. At least that was true in the unit we had the last time.

I am checking in @ Grand Beach in 28 days. I have kind of a crazy question: Does anyone know how deep the pools are? I say crazy, because I called to ask the front desk a while ago, and the girl working didn't know. Maybe someone who has stayed there knows!

We stayed there a couple of years back. I can't remember exactly how deep the pool was but as I recall it was typical of a resort pool. Probably 3 feet in the shallow end at 6 or 7 feet in the deep end.

We love this resort. Except the tile floor in the kitchen. It has sharp edges, and everyone always has to wear socks.

Not bad for the list of negatives!
