:thumbsup2 What a great film. The attention to detail was amazing.I'm going to have to see it again just to look at the hair. lol. Seriously, what a great story and Clint Eastwood cast some young people who I'm sure will become the stars of tomorrow. He and Redford seem to have that talent. It was diificult to seperate myself from the story and look at the environment, the faces, the homes. The script was crazy good, the dialogue -mmmm mmmmmm!
Not for the faint of heart or your children but see it!!!

We are headed to see it in a little bit. Glad to hear you liked it.

I liked it too. It was much less violent and more entertaining than I thought it would be. I was pleasantly surprised. Clint Eastwood never disappoints me.

We LOVED it too (all 5 of us).

I agree with you. It was not what I expected, but we gave it :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
I will buy this one when it comes out!

My new sound of irritation is Clint's mmmmmmmmm. :rotfl:

Great movie.

I loved this flick too, but found the acting to be a bit on the weak side...his family being the weakest of the cast, but this did not detract from a great flick! :thumbsup2

I think they were supposed to be shallow, weak characters. I just hated his grandaughter. She was awful and deserved his disdain. Loved the comment about the wife and the jewlery!!

We loved, loved, loved this movie. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't that and I thought it was fantastic and so moving. Glad to see other DISers enjoyed it as well.

I loved it as well! Definitely not what I expected it to be, but was wonderful all the same!

Gotta love the Grandmother.

She was Clint Eastwood in drag.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We saw it today and also loved it.

I have loved Clint Eastwood forever. He was one of my teenage crushes

I loved it too! I wasn't expecting it to be funny at all, but we were all cracking up at his comments.

i have bashed and bashed hollywood for movies in the past few years because they have been unoriginal, too many remakes or just plan baaaaaaad.

but this movie is easily one of my top 5 movies of all time!

I will be seeing it again before it leaves theaters, and I have only did that with 2 other movies before.

Did you all get the meaning of the scene where Walt spills his guts to "Toad" through the grill on the basement door? I didn't get it until my son explained it to me, and then I thought WOW!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure I got it.......can you explain? I saw it a few weeks ago and my memory may not the the best. I did LOVE it though!

Ok spoiler alert.......

remember how the priest kept hounding Walt to got o confession? And then when he did, he confessed relatively minor things, and said nothing about all the killing he did in the war and that it bothered him so much all these years. Well, that scene of him talking to Toad though the grilled door was like a confessional! He spilled his guts out to Toad, and it had more meaning for Walt than if he confessed to the priest. Of course he didn't plan it that way, it just happened, and it was visually symbolic like a confessional.

I wondered why Walt said his piece, stepped away to leave, went back, stepped away again, a few times. I wondered why it seemed important, but I couldn't get my finger on it. Then my son told me, and it made perfect sense. What great writers!

Thank you! I can't believe I missed that, but you're completely right. What an amazing movie....

I saw it on Friday and loved it:thumbsup2 I did agree with a pp that some of the acting was a bit weak but the story(and Clint:lovestruc ) made up for that. Now I want to see Slumdog Millionaire-I hear great things about that movie!
