If I am writing "Featuring The Smiths and The Johnsons", do I use an apostrophe before the "S" in the names or leave it as I have it written above?

(The last names, of course, being Smith and Johnson)

How about saying, "featuring the Smith and Johnson families"?

No apostrophies-you are making plurals, not possessives.

An apostrophe is possessive, like the Smiths' house. But if you're talking about the family, it's just the Smiths. If their name were Jones, you would say, "keeping up with the Joneses". :)
