so there she is, on the stage, in the first row no less, looking all adorable in her red and white dress and the white roses...
and during the last speech (fortunately AFTER the grads were given their diplomas) she signals to us that her stomach hurts. she never ate lunch and she was sitting under hot lights. the ceremony ends, and we head out to the school cafeteria for cookies and punch, but it's so crowded in the room that she feels uncomofrtable and begs to be taken home. I think she would have been fine if she'd had a few minutes to sit quietly and drink her lemonade, but her father starts carrying on that I should take her home right now...so we left before the reception was over.
