Hi all! My name is Gina, and I’m a senior at university, about to graduate. On May 23, I will be walking the stage and graduating with a Marketing degree, woo! On May 29, less than a week after graduation, I will be traveling to Disney World.

To be honest with you, I’m not sure which I’m excited for most, graduating college or going to Disney World! Right after the vacation, I will be starting an internship with a major corporation as a Marketing Intern, so this vacation is to celebrate my graduation, and to celebrate my freedom before entering the corporate business world. My birthday will also be during our stay in Disney, so there's a lot to celebrate this vacation!

This is my first Dining Review, and I'm super excited to get started.

A Little Bit About Me
This will be my third consecutive year going to Disney World with my girlfriend, K. We will be at Disney from May 29-June 8. For those of you who do not know, Disney Gay Days runs from June 3-9 (and is normally the first weekend of June every year).

I am 22 years old, and I live in Upstate New York. My favorite Disney movies are Mulan, Pocohantus, Wall-e and Brave.

This year is going to be much different from the last two years. This is because we are staying for 11 days/10 nights compared to the previous 7 days/6 nights in the past few years. We have also turned 21 years old during the year, which means we can finally purchase alcoholic beverages, and drink around the world in Epcot! Finally! We are also going to see Maleficent at the midnight premiere at DTD's AMC Fork & Dine, along with attending the first-ever Harambe Nights in Animal Kingdom on June 7!

Here's the daily line up:
May 29
Planet Hollywood
DTD AMC Fork & Dine

May 30

Karamell Kuche
Via Napoli

May 31

June 7

Quick-Service
I have decided that I want to try some new quick-service options this year, because we’ve stuck with the same places in the past two years. I have been looking at lots of reviews online about what quick-services are the best, and I have narrowed down some of my top choices.
  • Be Our Guest Lunch with FP+
  • Gaston’s Tavern
  • Earl of Sandwich
  • Wolfgang Puck Express
  • Flame Tree BBQ
  • Yak & Yeti
  • Pizzafari
  • Liberty Inn
  • Lotus Blossom Café
  • Katsura Grill
  • Pizza Planet

*I will be attending Disney's first ever Harambe Nights on June 7th. I'd also like to announce that we have purchased our tickets for Harambe Nights. This event offers complimentary appetizers, snacks, African-inspired beers, wines, and desserts.

K and I are all about saving money when necessary. Because June is my birthday month, we were able to receive Earl of Sandwich coupons for a free sandwich. I've also become a member of Landry's Select Club. Landry's owns restaurants such as T-Rex, Rainforest Cafe, Yak & Yeti, and other places off of Walt Disney World property. By paying the one-time membership fee of $25, you get a $25 discount at any of their restaurants. Because June is my birthday month, you get an extra $25 gift card that can be used in conjunction with the new member gift card. Basically, I have $25 for free to spend at any of the three restaurants on Disney's property.

*UPDATE*

I never got a chance to finish my reviews because life got in the way. I moved across country from New York to Las Vegas, Nevada, and have been working hard to save for our May 2015 vacation.

I have so much to say about my May 2014 trip though, so here it goes!

I am pleased to announce that I am adding Harambe Nights to my list of dining reviews, along with AMC's Fork & Dine!

Harambe Nights:"It all begins with a welcome reception in the park’s Harambe Village where savory appetizers and a selection of refreshing wines and beers are on the menu," and "The celebration will feature a culinary nod to Africa with multiple buffet stations of perfectly seasoned dishes for pairing with a selection of beers, wines and specialty beverages all included in the event admission. Soft drinks and water also are offered. Sweet bites of gourmet desserts under the stars and a special farewell experience will deliver a delicious ending to a magical evening." (Source)

Looking forward to your reviews, we go in August and have quite a few similar restaurants booked to you. My husband wants to go to AMC's fork & dine but we have way too many meals booked already :rotfl:
cant wait to see your reviews :)

Thank you for subscribing! Do you have a dining review as well? I'd love to follow along with yours! If you don't have one, I'm curious as to where you guys are eating. And don't forget that AMC Fork & Dine also offers just beverages during the movie, so you don't need to eat a whole meal!

Joining in!

I can only comment on one drink- the Grey Goose slushie from France- had it for the first time last year and it's my new favorite!! It's so good. My friend raves about the Grand Marnier slushie but I'm not a fan but she loves it!

Have not eaten at Yachtsman in a long time but always have a great steak there and love the roasted garlic. We tried BOG last September and we were not impressed with the food but the atmosphere has us going back this year. Cant wait to hear more of your reviews.

I've heard great things about both of those! Even though they're nine bucks a drink, I'll probably be trying both of them (maybe a few times during my trip!)

I wasn't impressed with BoG either, I'm hoping a different dish and different server might change my views, though.

And I am so excited for the garlic for the bread at Yachtsman. I LOVE garlic. I cook with it all the time. The only bad part about using garlic on the bread is that my girlfriend will have to deal with my garlic breath for the rest of the night!

Subbing! Can't wait to hear your review of Harambe Nights. We have tickets for July 19th.:cool1:

Following! Looking forward to hearing your review! I'm going July 5th!

Subbing! Congrats on graduating! :thumbsup2
We'll be in DW at the same time! If I see you, I'll buy you a drink!! :wave2:
