How do I find out if there are any grad nights scheduled for when we are at DL? May 15-19.

I found them on MousePlanet's DLR Park Update http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=dl070319xx

May

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End premiere, May 19. Not yet officially announced but park is scheduled to close at 5:00 p.m. No details available but likely similar to last two events.

Grad Night events: Thursday, May 17; Thursday, May 24; Thursday, May 31

June

Grad Night events: Thursday, June 7; Wednesday, June 13; Thursday, June 14 and Thursday, June 21

Camp Pin-E-Ha-Ha. June 16-17. A pin collecting event. Registration opens March 21, 2007 (link).

Also, how does a grad night affect the amount of sleep someone might receive if they are staying at the PP and are a terrible sleeper???
Should not affect hotel guests. The grads are tightly controlled. They are taken into DL and not allowed out until closing - then straight to the buses. There will be no grads walking around outside the parks (e.g., DTD or the hotels) making noise.

Went to DL last May during grad night and while the crowds were SLIGHTLY higher than the day before they got there, they were REALLY well behaved. At the candy store on Main St., DD and I waited in line with some special needs HS kids and they were just the sweetest teenagers I have met in years!!! We talked about all the rides and all the candy, LOL, kids after my own heart!!! Never did I see kids just running around being all crazy. Especially what with Senior-itis and all. ;-)

The way I read your post is that the grads are mixed in with regular guests. If someone else takes it this way, that is not the case. The grads are bused in late in the evening after regular park hours have concluded. They then have the park to themselves from around midnight until around 5 or 6AM.

I do second this but sometimes the teens arrive early with family members then join their respective schools' grad night afterward. By 0630 the next morning they are ALL gone and life goes on as usual at the parks. . .In May that means no crowds and a lot of time to ride the rides. . .enjoy.

I have direct experience here, but it happens to be very old LOL. So they may have changed policy. It was clear to me at the time that you could only go to grad night on a bus. You could not go separately and then join your group. In retrospect it was to maintain control of the attendees.

What grad nights are when kids have the park to themselves all night? Is that correct?

I went to grad night, but at the MK at WDW, in 2001 and we were let in through a different entrance (not the main one), it was only kids and chaperones all night and we had to be dressed up (boys even HAD to wear ties, if you didn't bring one you had to PAY for one). But yea - only people that came with us on the busses could get in.
