grad night

I was wondering if anyone out there has any information. We will be there and my daughter and her girlfriend are seniors, do you have to go with a group or is it open to individual seniors? I see it is two nights, are there different things going on both nights or is it just that it starts Friday night and ends Saturday morning, so nothing really going on for Saturday night. Trying to figure if we have to extend our time one more day there or not. Also what are the hours at PI and the magic Kingdom for the celebration?

If your daugher is a senior in a Florida high school the schools will have all of the information, including what night is open for that particular school.

I just called CRO and was given a number to call to get information about GN. 1-800-833-9806 option 2. You have to be part of group to attend.

Someone posted on another thread that this event is only open to Florida residents. When the CM read the information to me she never mentioned that. She did say that it isn't a public event.

It is not open to any senior in HS. It is a planned ticketed event for high school seniors as a group. Disney & Universal do them. The high schools that participate are mainly Fl high schools, but other high schools have been know to go. The park is closed off to the public and you can only get in with your ticket that has been purchased thru your school. They require proper attire (dress nice ....no jeans & shorts ) The ticket runs anywhere from $75-95 depending on the high school. Some run more since they incorporate the charter bus fare into the ticket price. There is usually a before or after party at Pleasure Island for Disney & City Walk for Universal's. My son's school did Universal last year ($75), it was the first time for his high school, they had always done Disney's. My friend's daughter's HS did Disney's ($95). When you check out the web site, you may want to bring it to the attention of your daughter's school, they may want to do a senior class trip & time it for the Grad Night partys??????

I seem to remember that there we some Georgia high schools that participated when I my senior class went to Grad Night. The obvious reason that there are so many Florida high schools that participate is that schools from other, far away states, would be hard pressed to organize a large number of their senior class to buy tickets to the function. As someone posted earlier, your high school registers and organizes the trip. It isn't for random visiting 12th graders to just show up and be admitted. You need a minimum of 10 students for Disney to consider your school for tickets.

You do not have to be a Florida school to attend. I have seen schools as far a NJ go to Grad Night. However, the event is only available to school groups.

I just remebered when I went it was only Florida schools and someone said while we were there it was only for Florida school but that was a few years ago so maybe it has changed or maybe it was just for the night we went I'm really not sure as I have been conflicting information from people now who say it's only for Florida and some say everyone. I do know it is a big Florida tradition.

Another thread had someone answer who's
son went w/ 400 students from his HS,
and they were from the NorthEast.
There's a website that's selling packages
to the seniors, 4 to a room at the Value Resorts
for the entire weekend (for both weekends).

Well see we do learn new stuff everyday as I never new they let out of state schools come. There are many people mostly from Florida who believe this is a Florida only event. I think it's cool that they would let others go though disney is a place I believe everyone needs to enjoy.

I had always heard the same thing.... they may have just added more nights to accomodate any school that wants to participate. I know it used to be just one night, and now it is 4.
