We have a Graco travel system that we are planning to take to WDW in June for our first trip with our son. He will be 12 weeks old for the trip. Since he is so small, we will need to take the infant carrier and the stroller part. We won't need the base since we are lap carrying him on the plane (there will be three adults) and using Magical Express and Disney Transportation.

My question is, can we carryon the carrier part and put it inthe overhead bin or must we gate check that with the stroller. Also, what about on the Disney busses? Do people hold the carrier in their laps? I don't recall ever seeing one on the busses. Or would you just not bother taking the carrier part. He will probably be about 14-15 pounds at that point, so we could lay him in just the stroller part. But I am concerned about what to do with him in the restaurants since we can't take the stroller in. Thanks for the help. This is an extremely budget trip, and our first trip with the baby.

I don't know that I have an answer but I can tell what has happened to me when I travelled. My little guy is a Brady too! We are planning for his fourth trip on a plane and he is only 1! Each time I travelled with the Graco Quattro. I had him in his carrier and the carrier in the stroller and pushed him right to the door of the plane. I took him out of the carrier and carried both he and the carrier on the plane. If there was an empty seat available-they let me buckle him in his carrier in the seat beside me! This was great b/c he slept the whole time and I actually got to look at a magazine! When there wasn't a seat available, I checked the carrier with the stroller. I would recommend taking your carrier with you for the parks and restaurants etc. It will make the trip more enjoyable for you all. Have a great trip!

Car seats are not allowed on the magical express bus. They must be stored underneath with the luggage. Also, Carseats are not needed for taxis or bus transportation in or around disney.

A lot of Disney resturants have a "sleeping baby" policy. That is not advertised...if there is available space at or near your table. They will let you take the stroller in the resturant. But if there is not room.. and the stroller would block walkways they wont allow it. Fire Evacuation Reasons.... But asking nicely will sometimes get the stroller a spot at the table.

We took our full travel system, including car seat, with us last September for our then- 5-month old. Both the Stroller and car seat were tagged by the airline and taken care of as we were boarding -- neither of these were going to fit in the overhead. You may want to ask (if there are plenty of seats available) if you could use your car seat and use one of the seats for your baby.

There were a few restaurants in WDW that we were todl to bring our stroller in and put it next to the table - Jiko was one of them. Other htan that, we kept her secure in teh car seat portion attached to the stroller while in the parks - It was much more comfrotable and she was able to be better covered with that canopy. We just detached the car seat and brought it in to all other restaurants. It worked out really well. Disney was incredibly supportive and accomodating of the baby.

GOOD LUCK!

Just got back with DD6mos. Took the entire travel system. Best thing we did! Must gate check stroller and car seat if there's no seat available for it on the plane. Was GREAT to cover up DD at parks from the sun by using both. Get the stroller clip fan too because when she is all covered from the sun it gets hot in there. Used the seat in some of the restaurants. With both, you could also sometimes just put her in the stroller for a little change in position.

:) Enjoy!!

Thanks for the replies. I am still a little confused though....we won't have a car and will be using Disney busses. Will they allow us to carry the baby on in the carrier part, or will we have to remove him and carry both pieces onto the bus seperately? Also, we won't be taking the base with us, so I guess we will just gate check both the carrier and stroller at the airport.

I already bought a rain cover for the stroller, I will have to look into a stroller fan. Thanks again for the help!

Even though we stayed on property, we had a car, so we never used the buses, only the Monorail. You CAN take the stroller with the carseat onto the monorail. You just rolled it right on which was great. AS for the trams from the lots, you had to fold up the stroller and carry it on with you, but the baby could stay in the car seat. We didn't use the buses, so I don't know about that one. Sorry.

Yes, you will have to gate check the seat and the stroller, unless they tell you that there is a seat available on the plane. Then you can just bring the car seat on board. Stroller always gets gate checked.

Hope this helps!! :)

I was just there in Feb. with my then 8 week old. We gate checked the stroller, but had purchased a ticket for her (we normally wouldn't but the airfare was so cheap). As for the Disney transportation..i carried her in her carrier all week with no problems. It does get tricky when you have a full bus though..as far as where to put the baby, but not a big deal.
Also we purchased one of those Graco snap and go strollers that just hold the carrier...much easier to push around and super easy to fold for the buses. Good luck and have a great trip!
