Graco duoglider for theme parks?

I have a 5 month old and a dd4 (just turned 4) and I am having double stroller issues! We are going to WDW next month. I have a Joovy sit and stand but I don't feel it's comfortable for either child so I need a new stroller! Everywhere I turn I seem to see the graco duoglider. Can anyone share their experiences w/ this stroller? Is it worth getting just for Disney? Would my dd still fit in it if we went back to WDW next year when she would be 5 (she is average size)? I forgot to mention that dd tires very easily and a stroller is a must for her. I am stressing over this b/c our trip is just around the corner!

I see them everywhere, too, and for the life of me I can't figure out why. I hated my duoglider. It was too big and heavy. I'd go to a store with a good stock of stroller and spend some time playing with them and trying the kids out in them to see if it's a good fit.

I hated mine too. My kids were only 22 months apart and I was only able to use it for about a year before it became too heavy to push. The last 6 months of that I only used it when absolutly needed (ie the zoo).

Yup, hated mine too. O.K. I didn't hate it, but I later realized there were better options. We took our Kolcraft Contours Tandem w/ us, but if I was buying one specially for Disney, I'd probably look at a lighweight side by side that fully reclined in each seat.

We rented a Duoglider for our 2 yo and 4 yo. It was great, easy to push and plenty of room for bags in the basket. I reccomend it.

My 2 are 12 months apart and I have a duo glide. I like it.. no complaints.. but I did not bring it to WDW. I went with 2 single chicco strollers. so much easier for off and on the bus.

I know 3 people that did and hated them. One had twins, so it was OK for a while, but once they were a little heavier, it was hard to push and impossible to steer. The other 2 had kids that were about 2 years apart and said it was a hassle getting in/out of the back seat, and complained that it was bulky and heavy.
I would think that 2 smaller strollers would be better. (assuming you are going with another adult to push one of them) I wouldn't think that your older one would be in it as much as the younger one. Maybe you can find a lightweight umbrella stroller that you can somehow hook onto the other stroller when you're not using it?

And OT to LisaNJ25 - I'm laughing at your tag. I also had the big "Jersey" hair - what on earth were we thinking back then???

I have a duoglider and like it. I think my kid actually prefer the duoglider over our mac. It has soooo much storage room on the bottom. My dd is 4.5 and still fits in the back seat well.

However, it would not be my first choice if you were buying a stroller just for WDW. It is seriously a beast!!! It would actually work fine in the park (IMO) but if you have to take the bus, train, tram, etc it will be a beast to work with. We have a Maclaren Ralley Twin (side by side) that we bought for Disney. Works great! Perfect for Disney. Very sturdy so great for my 4.5 year old dd. The basket space on the bottom is not all that great, but it's not too bad. We love it as our travel stroller. I also looked at the Peg double and the Combi and chose this one b/c I thought it was more sturdy and seemed better for an older child.

We love our Duo Glider! Our kids are average size (almost 3 and almost 5) and I've never found it to be too heavy to push. It has lots of storage space underneath, 2 great parent cup holders, a closed compartment next to the cup holders (great for keys), etc.

The back seat seems bigger than the front one, so DD sits there most often, unless DS needs to sleep and then he moves to the back.

We've taken our Duo Glider to WDW several times and wouldn't be without it. The rental strollers look so uncomfortable and don't provide enough sun coverage IMO.

The longer length of the DG does take some getting used to - especially in a store or a crowd, but it is easily do-able with practice!

I was given the Graco Duoglider as a gift and I think it's a very bulky stroller-something I probably wouldn't have bought for myself. About the only thing it is good for is the storage underneath. When we last went to WDW with our kids, they were 18 months and just turning 3 during our trip and we went with two much smaller strollers for the trip. Made it much easier to get on and off the buses and the monorail. The Douglider would have been a bit much to lug around on the trip. For our next trip in May, we'll have a 5 year old, a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 year old. I don't have any what stroller we'll be bringing, but I highly doubt it will be the Duoglider.

I've used my duoglider on my last 2 trips to WDW and will be using it again in Dec. It is only hard to push if my almost 8 y/o is sitting in the front seat. Seriously if you put the heavier child in the back it is not hard to push. I've even used it and been able to push it with 3 kids in it, ages 7,5 and 3, probably not the safest thing but with 3 tired kids it works.
Can't really compare this to others though, except singles and I didn't notice any big difference between the singles and the double.

I wouldn't recommend the duoglider either. We put up with ours the last 5 years, the we sold it and bought 2 macs. By the time DS5 was 4, it was about impossible to push him in the front seat. Also, the thing is huge meaning I think it would be a real pain to lug on and off the trams and monorails.... busses too if you'd be using Disney Transportation. When I was looking for my new macs I found a peg perrigo that had a reclining seat and a place for an older child to stand on the back, maybe that would be better.

We've been using ours for two years now, and I haven't had any problems. I have no issues with the length of it, and after a while you just get good at hefting it into the back of the car. And you have got to love all the storage space underneath.

BUT, we have yet to take it to the world. We're going in the beginning of February, so I'm hoping that the semi-light crowds will make it easy as we board the bus at POFQ.

If I didn't already have it, it's hard to say if I'd buy it just for this trip.

I rented a DuoRider side by side double for our last trip. It worked fine. It was very clean. I didn't have to carry it on the plane. And I didn't have to commit to buying it when I wasn't sure if I wanted it. That turned out to be the best part -- the double stroller concept didn't work well for us because we like to split up a lot and the kids never napped at the same time, so we always worried about the awake one waking the sleeping one. For our next trip, we'll take 2 single strollers. But that's just us.

We were very pleased with our experience renting from a baby's best friend ( www.abbf.com -- note, we had to call them when we arrived because the resort bell hop didn't know where to look for the stroller). It looks like they have both side by side and tandem style doubles. I'm glad I didn't buy a double, because I wouldn't want it now, but I'm glad I rented it because now I know. I hope that makes sense.
