For the past couple of years our family has done a $10 grab bag for Christmas. I am trying to think of new ideas and need help!

The ages range from 10-60 Male or Female

I would love any ideas

With that age range, I guess I would buy something I'm sure a 10-year old would like, but make sure it would also appeal to an adult. A few ideas: an assortments of chocolate bars, a Target or Amazon gift card, a nice reusable water bottle, gourmet cookies, a fun mug with a few packets of hot chocolate inside, a scarf in a neutral color, a cap from a local sports team, a nice Disney ornament.

$10 in loose change

Bags of small candy (like they have a Party City where you can get 6 pieces for a dollar.)

This is a smidge over $10 but would be interesting for some : http://catalog.usmint.gov/president...#_ga=1.129290830.353642486.1416009284&start=1

They have other fun sets at the actual US mint site. Who wouldn't want a first lady coin of Mrs. Roosevelt?

Depending on how uptight your family is, 10 $1 lottery scratchers. (Perfectly acceptable in my family!)

if you've got a cost plus world market near you give them a try-they have the BEST selection of "stocking stuffers" many of which are only 2-3 dollars each. some of our favorites are Cadbury candy items that are nearly impossible to find anywhere in the states. they've also got things like cute decorated decks of playing cards, holiday 'crackers' and much more.

it might be easier in future years to identify people by an age range/sex and then each person could be assigned one each so that they could limit their shopping to 'male between 8-12, female between 13-16...then as the ages raise the ranges could be larger: male between 20-30, female between 30-40, male between 40-50, ending with male (or female) "51'ish or higher";)

I've also seen these done where the participants each fill out a little questioner that is then put inside envelopes and distributed to those who will participate. no names are mentioned-just vague interests, serious addictions to certain types of candy, their desire to see a certain movie coming out (usually results in a highly appreciated movie gift card). me? I love drawing the name of a self proclaimed 'foodie' and heading over to the local place that sells 3 oz. bottles of primo infused olive oils. I get a couple of those along with some complimentary spice packs and I'm good to go.

Thanks for the ideas - Scratch off tixs are acceptable in our family

The one year I did $10 work of change in the banks that record how much money, my nephew got that, he was about 6 at the time. He so did not want that I guess he felt it wasn't a really gift. Everyone else wanted it!

We actually use to pick a name and do a "Make a gift" for that person, this is a little more easier. We put the gifts in a pile, pick a number you pick your gift, if you don't like it you can take from someone else. It is alot of fun

just be careful about where those flying monkeys end up-the other day I was moving some old boxes from one shelf to another in the garage, and nearly had a heart attack when one of the boxes started screaming at me:faint: yup, 2 flying monkeys were inside it:rotfl::rotfl: I don't know what kind of batteries are inside those things but ours are at least 13 years old and still scream like the day we bought them:rotfl2: they ARE fun though!

A bargain-bin DVD, a packet of microwave popcorn, a package of Red Vines and a can of Coke! Voile - movie night in a bag. Great for all ages! :3dglasses
