Grab a cup of coffee, or whatever & pull up a seat...it's another Last to Post!

I stayed in bed until at least noon today. Slept mostly until about 9:30, but people kept calling or coming to the door. I've got ribs in the crock-pot, and I just picked a couple handfulls of my first tomato crop.

In 2010 at the Napa Rose cooking school, we learned a tomato salad recipe. I'm going to make that tonight.

Me? A party? :confused3 You've got to be kidding! :rotfl2: I wouldn't let anyone into this hoarders house! Besides, Fran is too grumpy for us to have guests.

Good evening everyone.

Congrats to the Miami Heat for winning the 2012 NBA Championship.

You got to tell us Matt how your trip was.

Hi Bret! How are you tonight?

Hi Alison. I am doing fine tonight. I just watch the Miami Heat win the NBA championship. I still writing up my TR and I finally about to finish my Saturday trip report. I still have three more days to cover from my trip and it is not easy. I already did 26 posts on Saturday and it will be another 25 posts on Sunday with all those nighttime photos of CL & BVS.

Now I am all of a sudden crazy to go back to Anaheim for the Glow with the Show Ears AP preview next week. But I just can't do it since I am so busy with things here in Sacramento.

You got to tell us Matt how your trip was.

It served it's purpose to see the new stuff, but was really short in the end so I hope things work out to go back this later this summer for a longer more relaxing trip.

Went to my friend's family's reunion on Father's Day in Lava Hot Springs, which is a little off I-15 in Idaho like last year and early afternoon drove to LV. Pulled into LV at about 10pm making good time on the freeway. Last year got up early to go to Legoland first but this year just did two days in DLR.

Stayed at the South Point in LV again, and for a rate that was low it was great, under $50 including the tax. Stayed in the Travelodge on Harbor again for the last time. Sure it had a good rate, last year I found it mediocore and reading reviews it sound like my stay was far below the normal, gave it another chance and it was still in the crappy state it was before. People must boost thier ratings because they like the low rate.

I got to the parks about 10:30 which was dissapointing, but I knew when we finally got in the car we wouldn't make 8am and after stopping for gas/bathroom, I was hoping for 10am. Took it really slow and walked around BVS and Carsland most of the morning. Road Maters because the wait was 30 minutes which sounded alright and Luigi's Flying Tires mid afternoon at 75 minutes which was the shortest I saw the waittime being so far that day. Hit a few other DCA rides with FP and DL with FP. Came back to DCA when the sun was low and went to CL. Watched the lighting "ceremony" and caught Screamin right before it closed for WoC which was lucky. Went back to DL to use FP and hit pirates while F! was going on. Then came back to DCA and got in the huge RSR line around 10:40. The wait was really long but I think at 11 when the park closed the huge FP line finished up because the standby line went from shuffle to walk.

RSR is awesome. Short, but the sets are great. For as large as it is it seemed rather simple, and this worries me about the future of Disney rides. The AAs are big or full size and that was cool, but they are very simple, just not as intricate as pirates or animals on the jungle cruise. I think LM has better AAs. Since the ride is big and expensive, I don't think we will ever get the huge amount of moving parts that Pirates or HM has ever again, or rides of that length. Still I wasn't dissapointed it is superb.

Left DCA I think around 12am but wasn't real sure if DL was or wasn't closed to know if it was 12am. I was tired and just wanted to get to bed so I made haste getting to the parking shuttle.

Tuesday got to the gates at about 7:15 for RSR. It is strange to see more people going to DCA instead of all to DL. It's sad when you realize everyone going to DCA is going to the same place you are. The RD is basically a mass of people not dispersing like in DL but just going to RSR. I got my SR FP first then the rope drop crowd, which I was now behind more of, and I got in line for RSR. I think again it took about 75 minutes again. I didn't really keep track of time so that was my guess.

For a high capacity ride it's amazing to watch that line swell up. Also the FP return time doesn't advance as fast as other super high demand attractions. But the FP return was a long wait too, just like ST was when it opened.

So after RSR caught MJJ on the way out because it was posted to be a 20 minute wait. MJJ is a very good ride for not being as unique as the other two.

Then we went to DL and hit the Matterhorn. It has a 75 minute wait but I expected it to be going up so we did it. Then we stayed in DL for most of the afternoon but twice went to DCA to get FPs and use FPs. Early evening went back to DCA used our FPs except RSR. Saw the lighing again went right to RSR after with our FPs. Riding at dusk instead of the day is a bit nicer. Then did LFT one more time before leaving.

Last year we left DL at 1am for a hotel in Barstow. Which meant getting to bed really late to get up early for a long drive home. Last year I was exhuasted leaveing DL and on the way home. So this time we left DL early to drive to LV back to the Southpoint. Figuring I could sleep in on Wednesday morning and get home at a decent hour too.

So we left at about 10pm and drove strait to Vegas without stops and were in bed at 2am. I was exhausted but slept well. Left LV at 10 am which is great. Driving north went well but I started to get tired in the evening and started drinking, my road traveling favorites, diet cherry coke and rockstar. got in a little before midnight and couldn't sleep to a little past 3am.

BVS is great, I'm not super fond of the gates, but the trees behind them helps. The Red Car Trolley really helps liven things up. Mortimer's Market which sells mostly fruits and grab and go drinks was my favorite store because it's open to the outside and uncluttered. The other stores and the snack/dining locations have really good details. Elias' is really nice, I like the high ceilings and the details up above the merchandise. The new citizens and entertainment looked good but I didn't talk to or stop to watch any of it but saw them as I walked through.

CL is great but I really hope to see it some day with less people around. Maybe in a couple years.

You said you had people calling and knocking on the door. The demand was there for a party.

I had a couple of friends over for dinner tonight. I made homemade pizza and a big strawberry shortcake with homemade whipped cream :)

I didn't know you came south for a DL Thing. I would have liked to come say hi if we didn't have so much crap going on. I really want to check out the 1091 lounge but I'm not sure if I can go without Fran or if she needs to be present.

You made it to DLR??? Fantastic. Aside from the long queues, it sounds like you maximised your time there. Did DS go with you?

When do your school holidays start PIO? Keep hearing mumblings about school holidays but never know when they are :lmao:
