Gps?

I have not used them to get around, but I think this would be fun.

I took a class last summer on GPS. Do you know what geocaching is? There is a site and there places to go at WDW. I thought that was pretty neat. There is a place at each one of the parks if you put in the Orlando information. I think it would be fun. Maybe when I retire I can do that at the parks when I have more time :) We did this one day during the class and it was a lot of fun to find the boxes that the instruction put around on the grounds.

In 03 we were staying in FW and used my GPS when we went to Wal-Mart and Sam's Club and then did a little exploring around the area. The GPS made finding our way home much easier. My GPS has maps that I load into the GPS and they are very detailed with all the streets, we use it everywhere we go on vacation.

DH brought his GPS to our last WDW trip. We didn't need it to help us get around, but it was fun for him (geography was his major).

My DH worked on the GPS program. He would love to be able to get it now, but we haven't yet.

Never used it to get around the parks—although if you have a computer based tracking program or a portable GPS with road software, it can help get around the WDW area. (The direction signs are not always the fastest way around the resort area).

If you do decide to take one, you might try a bit of Geocaching. If you don’t know about this “sport,” it is essentially “treasure hunting” with your GPS as other “cachers” will hide things (both physically—called a “cache” and virtually—finding hidden Mickeys, etc.) around the parks. It is a fun way to see things and hidden spots you might never have seen or thought about. There are some excellent ones in Epcot!

THANK YOU! The first time I read the title of this thread I thought, "geocaching". My sister and her family love to do this. They asked me for advice about WDW. I can't wait to pass on this information. This will be great.
