Hi,
We were wondering if anyone has any GPS recommendations?
I know the Tom Tom Go 910 already has maps of Uk and USA, but just wondering if anyone knows if there is a cheaper GPS system, where you can interchange the maps (by changing cards)?
Ideally we would like a 'ready to go' unit that would be ok to use here and in the US.
Thanks
Tracy

My phone, an Ipaq 6915 I have Tomtom 6 on this.
For the USA I just put the USA maps on a 2gb Mini SD card (like for two weeks time I have the Spanish and Portuguese maps on the Mini SD card.

The 6915 is a quad band phone, TomTom GPS, Windows media player (and I have Nero Mobile on for playing films etc) Outlook contacts and calendar, Wi-Fi and bluetooth.

This gives you all you really need for more than just the holiday

This is the HP info: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/sm/WF05a/21675-21679-21679-21679-297609-12343242.html

and you can buy them from Ebay (I bought our two from there)

There are other PDA's with the same items as well around, worth a look

Thanks for that Obi, but I already have two PDA's..

A palm E2... with a wired gps system.. which I use for work (it supports Outlook, etc.) but it isn't wireless, and doesn't have blue tooth.

Last year I bought a Palm TX, purely for its wireless function. I didn't buy a gps system, at the time, as I'd already got one with my E2. Obviously getting a gps system for the TX would be a great option, as it could be used wirelessly etc. but the only gps system I can find for it, is for Tom Tom 5 - which obviously is now out of date!

Any ideas, would be greatly received!!

Thanks
Tracy

My IPAQ came with TomTom 5 but I have updated both Ipaqs to TomTom 6. Are your sure you cannot do this?

Hi Obi,
Yes, having looked into it further, I'm pretty sure I can get the Tom Tom 6 software, a gps receiver (wireless), for a reasonable price. As long as I can downlowd the software on our Macs, I'll be ok! and make use of my TX!
Thanks for your help

That's great news!
I am not sure about the Mac thing, as I only use Windoze,

Any problems with the maps PM me
