Just wondering about the refillable mugs - where do you get these at the Beach Club - and how good is the coffee that comes in them? Wondering whether they are worth it to get - would you say Nescafe (-1) or Starbucks quality (5) or something in the middle?

There are very few places in all of WDW where you can get a good cup of coffee. Most are -1

Kona Cafe has a coffee station that sell good coffee. 5

I find the coffee from the refillable mug stations is the worst. -1 Undrinkable. Some of the food courts have a coffee machine that sells cappuccino. You have to pay though in's not included with your refillable mugs. Depending on the machine somewhere in between a 3-4

I've never had the coffee at the BeachClub.

Nescafe coffee is just NASTY. About the only good thing it could be used for is to clean out your pipes if they are stopped up. Fresh at the Dolphin has Starbucks coffee. Also the coffee at Kona Cafe is very good, I have to get some on every trip. BRING YOUR OWN IF YOU WAN'T GOOD COFFEE.

Bring your own.

Let's see. A good cup of coffee at our local Starbucks is $2.50. Imagine how expensive it would have to be if they sold that stuff at WDW -- $4 maybe? Yeah, that'll go over well. :rotfl:

I am one of those annoying coffee snobs. I don't like the coffee I have had in WDW. Is it drinkable? Yes. Will it wake you up? Yes. Is it good? No. Just cream and sugar and suck it down as fast as possible. The food court cappacino's are not, well it's an automatic machine. Nuff said.

The coffee at the Beach Club Marketplace is brewed. The grinder is right there.

I'm a tea drinker for the most part but have had a cup there. It is not as strong as Starbucks but not Nescafe.

I am also a coffee snob--I love the good stuff. I am afraid you won't find much in WDW. We did find that the coffee stand outside the Kona is really good and the coffee at Chefs de France (along with everything else we tried) was excellent. We did not try it but have heard from others on this board that Boma has some pretty good coffee. I have heard it is french press.

:thumbsup2 yep

i thought the koan blend pretty good at Kona( their regular coffee and what we usually drink at home) the Kenya press pot i thought was so so but i am not a big fan of Kenyan anyway. due to not caring for the Kenyan we did not get the Kona press pot( dumb since i like Kona coffee,,,guess it was early and we were not thinking straight yet or just feeling cheap)

i haven't gotten it in a while but I know the french bakery used to have expresso so maybe they have real coffee also..I know because long ago( way before coffee bars) husband ordered an expresso and then, shocked at how little was in the cup said he didn't want it...you could practically read "STUPID AMERICAN SWINE" in the french guy's eyes as he grabbed it out of hubby's paw :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

All of the coffee I had was

In October I suffered through a week of WL Roaring Forks refillable coffee. A complete waste of water.

This year I am thinking of bringing my little Krups espresso maker for 5 days. Does that make me a snob... or just a little off?

:thumbsup2

Def. bring your own!! Every room (I think?) has a coffee maker in it so you won't even have to take the walk before your morning coffee. WDW has some sort of contract with Nescafe to keep their nasty coffee in just about every place you can get coffee. :crazy2:

I havent' tried the espresso yet but I think I may this trip. The closest thing I have had to good coffee at WDW was the stuff in the Norway bakery that is loaded with alcohol. Of course I wasn't too bright when we stayed at Poly and didnt bother to try to coffee at Kona :confused3

I understand Disney has a contract with Nescafe. Except for a few places that brew specialty coffee, it's all Nescafe.

I don't drink coffee, I'm a Coke person. I'm always grateful they didn't contract with Pepsi.

Disney coffee is just nasty. We deal with it by bringing our own coffee and filters to use in the in-room coffee maker.

Anyone try the coffee/lattes/etc. that is available in the deluxe resorts' concierge lounges? I wonder if the coffee there is any better.

do you just bring a bag of coffee & filters? What are timmies??
I have to have coffee in the AM. It doesn't have to be Starbucks quality but it can't be crap!! Give my the lowdown on bringing your own fix!!

Easy answer, the coffee is Nescafe, you already rated it a -1.

Bicker--unless it's recently changed Tubbis in the Dolphin serves Starbucks coffee and you can refill your S/D mug. The question isn't how much Starbucks charges for a cup of coffee but rather how much it costs a restaurant to brew coffee using Starbucks beans/coffee.

Timmies is Canadian code for a coffee house chain called Tim Hortons (which I think you may have in the States now that it is owned by Wendy's). Remember to grind the coffee before you leave - dont recall if they have filters - best to bring your own (little ones). DH loves strong Kenyan coffee and will only drink Starbucks (not a morning person otherwise).

Does anyone know what kind of coffee is served at Spoodles on the Boardwalk? I didn't have any since I quit drinking coffee (worst thing I've done this year thus far!) but DH said it was good and smelled really good. Hard to believe it would be nescafe, I thought it was Italian.
