DD and I are coming down this weekend. If you want a spot at FW somebody will have to croke. I can't get anything for Feb. unless it's a weekday. I guess we're going to go to TP and stay there. I just called FW and the lady said I can call at 1100 on Friday and if somebody doesn't extend we can possibly get a site. I have 4 weeks booked this year. March 19-23, June 4-10, Nov. 23-26 and Dec 1-6 and I booked it all last year because it's so hard to get a site at FW. Has anyone else just pulled up to the fort and hoped for the best? Wish us luck.

I know you'll enjoy TP... we moved there after we "had" to leave FW (no more spaces avail)... and it was lots of fun...

on thing that TP has OVER FW is the fact that there is NO DIRT!! After a week with 4 kids and 2 dogs, everything was FILTHY at the Fort... but once we got to TP, we had REAL grass and perfectly paved spots... even as a girl that *loves* "roughing it"... I can really appreciate a RV site without DIRT!

WE completely enjoyed TP.... I'm sure you will too!!

This is true of the supersites and they look nice as RV campsites go but not of all sites there are nice, more than half of TP is a grass and dirt field with sloppy hookups. We stayed there one night a few years ago and our site had a cable laying in the grass as the cable hookup, a backed up and broken sewer connection and no defined borders to our grassy area. We called FW the next morning and thank goodness they got us in.

We were there this week last year. Had to book TP for our 1st night. On a whim I called FW on our way down the day before we were supposed to arrive, and there was actually a cancellation. I would definitely call. Good Luck!

So was one of the above post from a disgruntled visitor or is Tropical Palms in need of some landscaping. We have forgot about coming down to WDW because we couldn't get a site at FW and now I read the above about TP.

It is an OK place, just get a regular or supersite, don't let them put you in the less than developed area that have no concrete pads.
