Gotta love consignment!

Here's the link to the Just Between Friends website mentioned earlier:

I participated in my first consignment sale (not JBF) earlier this year. It was quite a bit of work and I made about $190 which was acceptable but not quite as good as I expected. I think I tagged around 200 items. Around 15% of them were rejected (light stains/too much wear) and about half of what was remaining actually sold. I also sell on Craigslist which is alot of work as well but I can pace as little or as much as I want to do at a time whereas the consignment sale was a bit stressful in having to get everything ready to take in for appointment time. I got 65% of my sale price for each item but could have gotten 70%/75%/80% if I worked 1/2/3 4 hour shifts. But my time is more valuable than the extra percentage. Since I only sold about $300 worth of stuff, I would have worked 4 hours to pay another $15, so only $3.75 per hour. But workers also get to shop earlier than other consignors and the general public.
