DW and I are both APs. Neither of us got the email when the AP signups went live for the GotG preview. I am wondering how common this is? And if there is a reason why some didn't get it, or does it appear to be random? We both got the first email telling us to keep an eye out for the upcoming previews, but not the actual emails to sign up. And yes, we both checked our spam folders.

VERY VERY common. Random emails, random magnets, random everything. I started AP 15 years ago ... it just is what it is. I have no expectation to get everything, or what I get to be timely.

I never received the initial email saying to look out for AP signups for Guardians, the email saying sign ups were live or the actual confirmation email for the May 9th preview I signed up for. I wouldn't have even known the previews went live had it not been for the Guardians AP preview thread on here + having the registration link ready beforehand.

A few days ago I called the AP line to see if I could confirm whether I was registered for the preview (clicked out of the confirmation page too quickly and didn't get a screenshot). I waited 3 hours to speak to someone and the person I did speak to had to actually call the IT department since they are the ones that can see who is registered for previews. She also said it's completely random who gets emails and who doesn't.

I know Disney doesn't tell CMs anything but that was the answer I received when I called. At least she was able to confirm that I did have a preview spot but still never received an email despite the CM saying I should've gotten one after 72 hours :rolleyes2

Random? Wow.

They should call it “AP Preview Lottery” or something of the like in that case?

I'm not even sure how true that is or why she decided to tell me that but it certainly seems like it. I feel bad for any APs that didn't even know the previews were open and didn't get a spot because of it.

Totally!

I don't think it is truly random because some people seem to always get the emails and some people seem to never get the emails. I'm in the boat of never getting the emails OR any of the passholder magnets mailed home. I am pretty sure it is a bug in Disney's email system - specifically for Annual Passholder emails. I receive most emails from Disney, but not AP preview emails for whatever reason. I also find it highly suspect that both my wife and I are APs and became APs at the same time and neither of us receive the preview notifications. If it were truly random, I would think at least one of us would have gotten one of the emails? We both checked spam too and nothing. I don't think it is the email server blocking them either as I'm using gmail and other people using gmail have gotten them.

I've tried a few different things to resolve the problem and none have worked for me so far...

1. I've tried unsubscribing from all Disney emails at https://privacychoices.thewaltdisneycompany.com waiting 24 hours and re-subscribing to all Disney emails - did not help me to get the GoTG AP / DVC Preview email.

2. I've tried changing my email address registered with Disney before the GoTG AP / DVC Preview email - did not help, but was afterwards told to change it again to a different email, not sure if the 2nd change will fix it.

The AP team says it can take up to 30 days to recognize changes made to your opt-in status (wow), so maybe the above changes just haven't taken effect yet.

I got the email about preview coming up , the email with the link to book, but never the email that I actually booked, but I printed and screnshot the confirmation so hopefully no problems. Guess I will know its fine when it gets close and a park pass shows up in the app, if not Ill be calling.

I got an email--but didn't even come close to getting a ticket (stopped at 7000 in front on me--and said it was sold out).

Glad to see it wasn't just me. I didn't get any emails at all about the AP previews. So happy I just happened to see the D23 one the day of by following these boards!

Thanks everyone for the responses, I guess it is nice to know it is random and not uncommon . . .
