Got two little dreams!

Epcot was our lucky park last week. First day there, in line for Soarin (for what would be our first of 5 trips on it). Right before getting put into rows, a Dream Team member comes out and tells us that everyone that has turned the last corner has won a dream, and gave us all Dream Mickey ears. So we all got a laugh at Patrick Warburton's pre-show when he talks about having to take off your Mickey ears to ride. A little thing, but we felt pretty special wearing those around the rest of the day.

Then our next day at Epcot, we had just finished dinner at San Angel (which was fantastic, btw!), and queued up for the Three Caballeros. The CM at the entrance pulled DH aside and gave us a VIP card to have a boat to ourselves. It was a little thing, but a lot of fun. I think these little dreams are just as special as the big things, just giving guests an extra smile and a little extra magic. Thanks, Epcot!

Wow, that is great. We have loved YOAMD and were very glad to hear that it was being extended into 2008.

So far the only official prizes we have won are Lanyard/Pin sets through postcard submissions.

Unofficially we love it too. The CM's do so many special little things for everyone that aren't official YOAMD prizes. We got Random fastpass tickets for rides, An anniversary certificate signed by the staff at Rose and Crown, A signed picture, Balloons and a card in our room on our anniversary.

I hope people don't become too tied up in winning. DW and I have read threads where people are getting so involved in winning that it ruins their vacation because they don't win. Some have even been bitter about it when they DID win. They just didn't win enough or a big prize. Everyone in the parks has an equal chance to win and are equally deserving to win.

I agree....I dont think that your vacation should be ruined if you dont get a dream!! I didnt tell my family about the YOAMD...just in case we didnt win anything!! We won dream fast passes...a CM gave us fast passes good until 8/31/07 to go back onto MS in EPCOT...we got 3 free frozen cokes...a free CS breakfast at ABC Commissary...and our rooms were MAGICALLY ready for us when we checked in even though it was only 10am!! Hey...I loved it!!

How cool! We'll be there in 15 days and maybe we'll get lucky too! A few years ago (before YOAMD) we were walking around WS at Epcot and my DD was still in her princess dress from breakfast. We were celebrating her birthday and when the CM in Mexico heard this she told us to come with her and she took us through the exit of the boatride and told the CM there that the birthday princess had arrived for her special cruise. My DD (then5) was very excited. Now granted, there wasn't much of a line anyway, but we did get the whole boat to ourselves and it made DD feel very special.

The getting a ride vehicle to yourself is one dream that I just don't get! I remember reading on another thread about someone who got to ride Soarin' with just their group...what would be a "dream" about that? Personally, I feed off the excitement of the other people around me. Some of the best rides I've had have been when I've chatted to other people in line, especially those who have never been on something before, and I tend get to see their delighted reactions when we ride. Being on something by myself or in my own vehicle with just DH wouldn't appeal to me as a "dream."

I can see feeding off others on a ride like Buzz Lightyear or EE, but for something like Rio Tiempo (or whatever it's called now), there's not really much of a reaction from others, right? My family felt like VIP's, especially as we passed San Angel. We enjoyed it greatly.
