I was surprised it was still available since I read about how they tend to go immediately once they become available. Although it's still more than a year away :P This will be our first cruise though, so I figured i'd do it big! It'll be me, my wife, 5 year old daughter, and the grandparents. I haven't told them that was able to get the Royal Suite yet though. I think i'll leave that as a surprise for embarkation day :D

Until a couple weeks ago, I knew absolutely nothing about going a cruise, so i'm hoping to absorb as much knowledge as possible about it over the next year so we can be fully prepared for the experience. I went through Costco since they were offering a $1235 Costco card upon returning from the cruise. I figured that was a nice deal since it was a little more than the $1000 offers i was seeing at other travel agent sites. I also went with the travel protection through Travelguard, which is the service Costco recommended. They charged me for my deposit and said i'd have to call back and pay for the rest once my cruise was paid in full. For those who are interested, this is what it cost for the 5 day cruise for 4 adults and a 5 year old child:

And here's how they broke it down per passenger. It gets quite cheaper per person as you add more:

Does anyone happen to have any photos or videos of the Walt Disney suite on the Wonder after the big remodel? I haven't been able to find much on youtube, etc. I'd also be happy to hear about your experience if you've stayed in this room on the Wonder after the remodel as well.

Wow! That is AWESOME!!! If you can keep a secret like that, for that long, you are a good man!! :cutie: I love, love the Wonder! You are goin' in STYLE your first cruise!!! Happy planning and congrats!!

Oh, and love that you booked via Costco Travel, they are great! :thumbsup2

Oh i'll be able to keep the secret. Surprising the family is one of my favorite things to do. But this will definitely be the biggest surprise so far :yay:

OP, be sure to look inside the books in the reading room. There are notes passed along from previous cruisers!

Oh good to know! I'll definitely look for those and make my own contribution.

How fun! You will love it!! Staying in the Walt Disney Suite was a bucket-list item for me and we did it on one of the inaugural DCL Magic Norway cruises in 2015. It was extraordinary and the concierge CM's and stateroom hosts will go out of their way to take care of you. Have a fantastic cruise!

This made me look up the cost on the Transatlantic. $33,000! (well - that's the 2 bedroom) I bet Costco would give a really great gift card :D

Ouch! I dont think i'm ready to spend THAT much on a cruise yet :P I wouldn't mind a verandah stateroom on one of those transatlantic cruises though!

It can be tough keeping a secret until your cruise. For my wife's 60th birthday. I took her on a 5 night cruise out of Miami on the Wonder. She knew we were in a verandah, but didn't know that the verandah was part of the Walt suite. She thought the cruise was just for the two of use. The other part of the surprise was that I also brought our 4 adult children and their families. The grandkids weren't told about the cruise, so that they wouldn't accidentally say something to grandma. They were told once they were in Miami. My wife learned about the rest of the family after we checked in, and they let us into the concierge lobby in the port and the kids greeted her with a banner. She didn't realize that we were in the Walt suite, until we were onboard and she was opening the door. Our youngest daughter had to tell he to look at the door and she finally noticed the suite name. Something we hadn't expected. This was the first cruise on the Wonder where they offered two happy hours in one of the bars before the two dinner seatings.

Our three daughters and families each had their own stateroom, but our son who is single stayed in the Walt suite with us. That made it interesting, keeping my wife from seeing the cruise documentation, and trying to keep the security at the port from asking about the other member of our party.

I was surprised at how relatively reasonable the price was. If I remember correctly, the suite for the 3 of us was just a little over 6K

Congratulations! I surprised my family with the Roy Disney suite on the dream last year, It was fun to see there excitement. I have the Roy suite booked on three of are upcoming cruises on the magic and wonder next year, cant wait to see those rooms on classic ships. I think they have a much better layout.
