Okay I spoke to a very nice man at the DLH front desk and was told that the actual refurbishments have not begun yet. They have refurbed 2 rooms to use as a model so that they could decide which look they want to use. He said they have been working on a project to replace some windows, every other window on every fourth floor. He said they will be done with that very soon and were taking precautions as to not disturb the guests. He said actual refurbs start late Aug. (off season) and that he has seen the model room of the design that they chose and that it was still classic Disney but a little more modern. He says he believes fans of DLH will be thrilled with it! ( I am one of those fans). I told him how excited I was that they are finally updating the hotel! This guy is great, he is the same CM that helped me last summer when the hotel accidentally double-billed me. He made sure that it was fixed right away and went out of his way to make our stay great and memorable! So,,,, there we have it.:wizard:

Awesome, thanks for the news, dd74.:thumbsup2
I had heard they were doing one tower at a time, you know, closing the whole area down and working fast and furious to get it done. I think the more subtle, slower approach you were told will be more effective. I love the DLH too, and am glad she is getting an update.:)

I was at DLH with Calvin tonight. I took my usual route to the Steak house and hit the wall. I had to double back and go another way then out the building and then over to another entrance. Both were closed so we ended up at Hooks Pointe. I had ice cream and Calvin had the salad with walnuts and the steak and shrimp. I ended up giving him a tour and saw the covered up windows while pointing out the balconeys.

I wonder what that detour was for. It is on the south end of the hall with the giant collage.

hmmm.... not sure. I think they are kinda trying to keep everything hush, hush until they are ready to unveil the whole thing.I am so excited to see the new rooms when they are done!!!

You know that if the micechat people can see in a room they will post it on the internet. I would not doubt they will book a 4th floor room in one of the other buildings then set there with telephoto lens, lol. I do love micechat for their tenacity though. Only tease the ones you love.

I do understand their need for privacy. I just wish that wall was not there as I hate having to waddle back around to the restaurants. Hooks Pointe was oh so yummy from what I had and Calvin's face.

:lmao: Yes indeed, Micechat is awesome! Gotta love their commitment! I hope something leaks soon b/c I am now considering changing the WDW Christmas trip to DLR for the sole purpose of seeing the new rooms!!!:confused3
DBF would be so upset, lol!!! He has never been to WDW. Guess I will have to settle for photos. Another thing I wish they would change is to add more to the pool. Maybe add something to the pirate's ship so that the kids could spray each other, etc. That would be neat!!
