Well, I got it! I'm so pleased!

This is the first time we've flown on Southwest, so I'm not fully sold...although everything is looking great at this point! We leave in about an hour to drive to Nashville, then fly out in the morning.

I just want to say thanks for all of the information and advice I've received from this board...it really helped me get a great fare, great flight schedule, and the prized "A" boarding pass. When we return I will share my expierence with ya'll...the good, bad and the ugly. I'm not sure how I'm gonna get checked in online 24 hours in advance though...I'll be walking from the CP to Teppenyaki in Epcot...lol I do plan to ask the front dest, concierge, or whatever to see if they can do it for me. If not, we'll take our chances when we arrive at MCO on Christmas night...pixie dust if that is the case please? :wizard:

Well, for all of those who are traveling with us this holiday...may you have safe travels along with us!

Take care and have a very merry Christmas!!!

Congrats and you shall be the envy of all in the land.

But seriously....24 hours before our flight home in October, we were enjoying MNSSHP. We were able to get A passes for a 7:40PM flight at just after midnight at the Boardwalk's front desk. Good luck!

We just returned home today...flew out of MCO Christmas night at 8pm and were walking into Teppenyaki at the 24 hour prior to mark so I didn't get a chance to ask the front desk to check me in until about 11pm. We still got an A boarding pass, which surprised me. However, I realized what I'd been told about traveling on Christmas Day was true...it was not crowded or busy at all. We got through security at MCO in about 5 minutes (total time for all 3 of us) and were at the gate waiting with plenty of time for our flight.

Same thing happened with us for our flight down on 12/10 (12/9 I was VERY
sick with a 24 hour stomach virus and FORGOT to print boarding passes until
around 7:00 p.m for a 1:00 p.m. flight the next day) but, we got A's anyway.
Then, for the return on 12/17 we had a 4:30 p.m. flight and on the 13th we
were on Soarin at that time, so, again I didn't get to the front desk at SS until
maybe 7:30 or 8:00 p.m., but, we still got A's. I wonder if a lot of people still think you need to wait until after midnight to check-in and get passes?

what is an, "A" boarding pass? We booked SW today $59 each way from providence. Family of 4=$514.00

SW doesn't use assigned seating so all boarding passes are A, B, or C and denote when your party can board. If you've got an A you'll board right after any preboards (anyone with children under age 4 (I believe), anyone in wheelchairs, etc.). That's why it's best to do online checkin as quickly as
possible after the 24 hour mark.
