Got The Part!!!

I received a call today saying I was cast in a local production of "California Suite". My DH was also cast, although we don't appear together at all through the show.

If you're familiar with the play, I'm playing the British woman who comes to Calif from London for the Academy Awards and is up for Best Actress. If you saw the movie, Magge Smith played it with Michael Caine.

My husband is playing the Alan Alda role.

We're so excited! I love doing theatre and especially when my DH can be involved in the same show. We open in September for 11 performances.

That is wonderful! Do you act in community theatre? My mother was an actress in community theatre for as long as I can remember, its such a fun environment.

BTW, I loved the Maggie Smith role in California Suite.

Yes, my DH and I both act in community theatre. In fact, that's where we met 24 years ago in "Camelot" (Lancelot & Guinevere). We absolutely love it!

I haven't seen the "California Suite" movie, but I do know that Maggie Smith got the Oscar for her performance. Hopefully, I can measure up... lol.
