Got the Meal Deal and regretted it--caused greasy beached whale syndrome!

we never have and nvr will do meal plan at us or disney because we like to eat whenever, whereever, and howmuch ever we want

are the choices terribly limited? I would never do the meal deal personally, but for no other reason than no matter what was on the menu I would want something else....do they also restrict which places you can eat? is it only counter service?

when you buy the meal deal, it is for a select park.
there is a price for both parks for the same day at a discount.

there will be 3 select resturaunts only you can use the meal deal at.
during high season in the summer, they add on 2 additional places for a limited time.

it is only at counter service.

it is for a set meal.
you can only chose from select options.

you can eat all you want but have to get back in line to reorder.

if you look at the menus for the sites, that will be the deciding factor if the meal deal is good for you.

it opens at 11:00 and the program closes 30 minutes prior to park closing.

thanks Mac :thumbsup2 you always know whats going on!
I prefer to eat in full service places, so the meal deal wouldn't be the best for me, but probably works well for a lot of others.

Just to defend my statement:

Universal Studios Premier Pass

It comes with a holder, much like the Disney Annual Passes come with a holder. We keep the tickets in the holders so they do not get scratched up. If the bar code or picture gets scratched up, they don't work, you have to spend time getting a new one.

The HHN free ticket is a rip out section of the holder, as are the coupons for the free bottles of water.

Since we keep our passes in the holders so they don't get scratched my dad forgot that they were in his button pocket on his shorts and they got washed.

"have any opinion that you want. if you want to talk about second hand information, something that happened that you did not see or hear but found out after the fact, i'm sure it would give you a jaded opinion on universal."

I would like to know what you are referring to here. I was not referring to ANY second hand information. I was with my parents, in GS when it happened, just two nights ago. I guess you were confused. Second, I am not jaded on Universal, I'm just saying, Disney has better customer service hands down. I've been brushed off by employees of universal, fussed at for requesting front row on rides, ignored, among many others. I am not referring to anything second hand or things I heard from other people.

"you list things that are not even out yet.....hhn coupon.....?
you list things that do not make sense to me......water coupon?"

You wouldn't know what this was unless you had a Premier Annual Pass or had researched it.

"seriously, someone kissed their own butt?? this i would like to see! LOL"

Yes literally, his name was Sam, at the pirates of the caribbean ride...why must you instigate when you knew I was speaking figuratively?

"but I do have a few questions, I'm a little confused ~ HHN Coupon? why would they carry a coupon for an event in October in the middle of August?
what are water coupons? for a water park? or for bottles of water? "

Let me help you get unconfused, and explain for the people that don't know. The passholders are to protect your pass, the HHN coupon is a ripout coupon in the holder. It was not ripped out because we haven't exchanged it for the real ticket yet. The water coupons are for 8 free bottles of water that are included with the Premier Annual Pass.

"doesn't almost every shop in Studios/IOA SELL lanyards for passes?? and aren't they made of plastic? (the part that holds the pass that is) So how would washing it destroy it? "

The holder included with the pass is made out of paper. This includes the tickets for the bottles of water and the HHN ticket.

As to why my parents were carrying it. All of our passes to theme parks are carried in their holders to protect the tickets. If the Universal passes are scratched up, they are no good, if Disney tickets get near cell phones, credit cards, they are demagnitized. To rip out the tickets inside would be no good since we would lose a little tiny piece of paper or forgot where we put it, when we could just carry it in it's packet around with us.

If all of you people are so into universal, why don't you know about this pass? Do they keep it a secret or something?

As for being jaded, or hating Universal, I am neither, I love Universal, and I go there all the time. You all took something out of my mouth that I did not say. I'm just saying, Disney has better customer service. I have no problem with Universal not having great customer service because I don't expect that there.

Please, reply if you like. I would like to discuss the Premier Annual Pass, it is a great deal, only $279.00.

She means this holder, but obviously the Premier not Preferred.

I think people are upset because you are making a blanket statement about customer service at Universal and saying Disney's is better. I can tell you a lot of TM's work at Disney too and I don't believe for a minute they turn into something magical when they step foot on Disney property. I have had more bad service at Disney than at Universal.

The Premier Pass is not a secret but because of the renewal cost, a lot of us don't have them. I'm not giving up my $109.00 renewal rate on my Preferred pass to get the extras on the Premier. My Preferred pass is plastic and has my picture on it but I don't carry it in the paper sleeve. I don't even know if I have it anymore. My pass is four years old now and I carry it in my wallet and have not had any problems getting in the parks. My first pass did break on a corner so I had to get the one I have now...but other than that...no problems at all.

I don't believe I am making a blanket statement. I have had better experiences at Disney, period. I'm not saying I haven't had bad experiences at Disney, because I have, but not because they were rude, they were just indifferent, and to me, for Disney, an indifferent CM is not good. Probably the people that have had better experiences at Universal go there more. I go to Disney more, so I have more experiences to brag about, where I do not go to Universal quite as often.

The price of the Premier pass pays for itself many times over, despite a renewal rate you already have. Especially if you go to HHN, or buy express passes. And you get bigger discounts on food and merchandise. I have already paid for the pass with all of the extras it comes with.

And if you had the Premier pass, you would keep up with the sleeve because it has all of your goodies in it.

Okay, so the big question is, why didn't they just rip 'em out and store 'em somewhere till needed? I am a Premier Passholder too and we ripped that stuff out and put it away. It's not like we're going to drink 8 bottles each in one visit or haul around HHN vouchers for half the year. Heck, we don't even bother to bring the holder because the pass is hard plastic and plenty durable on its own.

I doubt seriously I would carry everything around IF I had the Premier pass. Why would I carry around the HHN tickets in August when the event doesn't happen until the end of September? You are asking for trouble carry all that stuff around.

I'm just saying, Disney has better customer service. I have no problem with Universal not having great customer service because I don't expect that there.
If this isn't a blanket statement, I don't know what a blanket statement is.

Okay, so my big question is, why don't you keep it all attached in there and keep it all together so that when you want it you'll have it.

It's because you do what you want, and I do what I want. It's a free country and not everything does things the same. My parents and I work 60+ hours each week and when we get home from work we rip our clothes off, throw on our park clothes and go as quickly as we can to the parks. If we have a bag specifically designate for the park, with our park pass and sleever in it then we actually get to use those coupons. If we had to remember in our haste that "hey I might want some water tonight, let me get a coupon out of my underwear drawer" then we would NEVER get to use them.

Do you understand what I'm saying. It's not like we work average jobs and can just mosey on over to the park and mosey on back. Our lives are hectic and rushed and we move like energizer bunny 24/7. If you have a problem with what I do with my pass, then that's your burden to bear. I think it's fine that you keep your water coupons seperate, however, that doesn't work for us.

"If this isn't a blanket statement, I don't know what a blanket statement is."

My words were an opinion based on personal experience. If you want to call my personal opinion a blanket statement, that's fine. No skin off of my nose.
