Got the kewlest thing today in the mail from Disney

It was a mini welcome pack for our next trip! Will go great in the scrap book! Has our names printed on it and a cute little packaging...Granted it is a gimic of some kind but it says welcome back!

I am a sucker for these types of promo materials! I remember when we had booked our trip for 2002, about 2 months before the trip we got a postcard in the mail from Mickey Mouse! IT said something to the effect of We cant wait to see you again (and was signed by the big cheese himself! LOL!) I hung it on our refrigerator until after our trip. I thought it was a great marketing tool and a great little pick-me-up and reminder of our upcoming trip!

We all must be nuts! We get excited about Disney junk mail! I remember those post cards too! That was a wonderful mailer! I wish they would do that again! Especially if they see you are traveling with kids! My DD had it on her mirror for months!

I didnt' do anything to get it. When you make your reservations now they ask you a ton of questions before even get to a voice! They ask if you have been to disney over 5 times or something like that and since 1998 of course we have so I guess it had something to do with that....
So I would think anyone who is going to disney will get one if they have been there before.

Because I am staying in a Disney Resort they sent me a welcome back package too. Did you get the map of all the parks together in one? that was cute very helpful, IF i didn't already know every inch of disney world just about..LoL

We are DVC members, go down twice a year, always stay on property and NEVER have we received anything like that!

When we went for the Millenium Celebration they sent us a large hat box filled with Disney Stuff. I don't remember everything but somethings that come to mind is a 2000 disney license plate, 2 beanie babies (brer fox and brer rabbit), a couple of luggage tags, some activity books for the kids and a bunch of other things. I think our park hoppers were mailed in it too. I have no idea why we got it, but we did buy park hoppers for 6 adults and 1 child as well as booked cabin in FW. It was very cool....

As far as I can tell, they only send the little folder to those staying at WDW resort.....and only for bookings through CRO?WDTC. I don't know about travel agent bookings....

With DVC all we ever get is our confirmation letter. And, no we don't have enough points....we've booked rooms the regular way many times since joining DVC in 2000...our AP"s burn holes in our pockets!

I have my folder in my July 2002 WDW album...when we stayed at POR. We also got one last year when we stayed at ASMo, but I haven't scrapped that yet.

Here's a link....the folder is on the 3rd page with the Mickey Monitor (AP newsletter), glued in so that I can open it and take out the stuff that came in it....though they may have changed it since then. There's a "personalized vacation planner" that has info about our resort and suggestions of things to do that are appropriate to our kids' ages, etc..

With DVC though we get that cool folder at check in....I save all my memoribilia in those until I get to do the scrapbook.

The hat box thing sounds amazing....did you book some sort of package deal? We got a cool package in 1999, but that was through the old MKC.
