Got some Pixie Dust

Checked into Coronado Springs earlier today, and was showered with pixie dust. We have never received an upgrade, but today when we checked in, we were upgraded from a Preferred King Room to a Waterview Junior Suite. The view is gorgeous and the suite is so amazing, and there are two refrigerators in the room, so I guess they have already changed this one out. First day was awesome, can't wait to see what day two brings.

I think it only happens if they oversold the room you booked (same thing with the PP who booked pop and was upgraded to yacht club). They have to give you a room better than the one you paid for so on rare occasions you may get bumped to a better room type/resort

Having a mom and dad who worked in the hotel industry, hotels usually book at 110% capacity when possible! They figure at least 10% will cancel or not show up (Disney would probably be a bit different but probably run a bit on the same assumption) so sometimes they misjudge and have to comp you a stay at a different hotel (or an upgraded suite!) Totally awesome pixie dust for people who get upgraded!!!! Congrats OP!!

We got upgraded to a suite from a standard room at asmu, having a living room and a kitchen and two bathrooms was such a nice surprise!

Not so...they do not have to give you a better room. I paid for a preferred view room and they downgraded me to a standard view. They weren't going to refund me the difference until I started to raise a bit of a stink. All they guarantee you is A room.

The one and only time I've stayed deluxe, at my dream hotel AKL, I was upgraded from a parking lot view to a savanna view room! Didn't realize until I walked into the room and nearly had a heart attack!!! I was so giddy! Lol
