got some 2009 rates

Yes Nik's Mom, it does look like $10 more per night. My AAA agent emailed me back this evening and Pop Century is $131.87 w/tax per night for our trip June 3rd-12th which is in the "summer" season. I do have to say I don't know if that is the Sun-Thur rate or the Fri-Sat rate. I hope it's the Fri-Sat rate because it seems a little high to me.

Carla

Hi Carla,
Was that rate including your AAA discount?

Sherri

No, it did not include the AAA discount. Thank goodness or I would be really worried!! When my agent spoke to Disney this afternoon they told her they were having problems with their system so they could not apply the AAA discount just yet. They told her to try back Monday morning.
It's getting very hard to be patient!!

I don't think its a problem with the system, I just think the AAA rates haven't been released yet.

I called yesterday after reading this thread and the CM could not tell me yet what the rates were going to be for my two reservations. He said to try back in a few days as the system was still updating all the info.

2009 resort rates starting to appear...
For value and moderate resorts, standard rooms during value season in 2009 appear to cost the same as 2008. There's a slight increase in preferred rooms at value resorts - $3. Water-view and king-bed moderates look like they'll set you back $10 more than in 2008.

I'm majorly disappointed. My TA told me yesterday that the rate I had previously booked a AKL club level room was still the same. And that Coronado was $195. Well I can tell you that at those prices we'll stay at WDW on-site a lot fewer days. I'm pretty surprised because I think $500/nt for AKL club is ridiculous in regular season. So we'll wait to see but I will certainly cancel part of my WDW ressie if price don't drop between now and a week before we go.

OK a bit more info, the peak and holiday rates will be in force from 2/12-4/18 then dropping to regular rates from 4/19 have no end date for that. Moderate value rate 145 ugh was hoping during March sometime or early April.

February doesn't seem too inviting weather wise.

I just called and the CM I spoke to told me the rates were not out. :confused3 Should I have asked a different way? I currently have reservations and told him I wanted to check it the 2009 rates were out yet.

I just said I have a reservation that I booked for 2008 at prime holiday rates, and was told to call back beginning of August to have it adjusted to the 2009 value season rate :)

You know, my rate still is not right. Its still over by 4 bucks a night. I put in Dec 31-Jan 6th on the website, and took away the dec 31st, leaving me with 5 nights - they showed at 170/nt, but I was quoted 174/night. I am wondering if the new prices actually take effect on Jan 11th, like the new dining plan.
So be careful if you are booking dates like I am, before Jan 11th (when the new dining plan takes effect). Check the website before calling CRO tomorrow!

I just did this with WL and am coming up with an increase of $10 a night - about what I was expecting. Only rooms available for Dec 31 - Jan 3rd are CY rooms and they are coming in at $285 for Jan 1st and beyond. This is value season.

So, I pretty much have ticket prices nailed down and room rates - now just waiting on that darned DP info - this time tomorrow we'll hopefully have all of our questions answered! :)

Just got off the phone with a CM. He told me right now AAA discounts have not yet been released. I booked 8 nights at POP 1/21/09-1/29/09 at $872. That is with no discount and it IS the guarenteed rate. I was originally quoted at 1031. So it makes me happy to know its already down in price from what i was orignally quoted, then once I can hopefully add AAA it will be all that much better.
:cheer2:

I booked Pop on the phone today for 10/25-11/03 2009 and it was a total of $1,215. That is the 2009 price, but I should get it to go lower once the AAA discounts happen.

OK got more info: Value season dates roughly 1/1-2/12 a value resort rate of $82.00 per night, Moderate rate $149.00 per night.

Peak season from 2/13 - God knows when as the dates into April thorughout March were all the higher rate of 125 for a value resort and 195 for a moderate.

Please note these were weekdays and no weekend rates.

How did you get these rates? I booked January 26-Feb 5, booked 2 connecting rooms at 133.88 each. I called today to get the new rates TWICE and they told me both times that these new prices are the new value rates.

What should I do?

You should assume that twice you spoke with people who didn't know what they were talking about. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're going at the least busy time of the whole year, right? So waiting a few extra days for them to get their act together and update your rate shouldn't be a problem.

When I call in I seem to do better with CM's if you press the option for 8 or more people. Not that I book that many I just seem to get better informed folks for some odd reason. Call back and ask them about the $82.00 rates and by all means tell them someone just was given that info.

Good luck and happy planning!

Quick question...

Is there a different weekend rate during the value season?

I did a room only res. yesterday for the All Star music Suite and the confirmation came back with the following rates. This is all '09 before tax.

Aug 6 (Thur) $265.00
Fri, Sat. (7, 8) $285.00
Sun, Mon, Tue (9, 10, 11) $184.00

Looks like some hybrid between max weekend rates, summer rates, and value all mixed together.

I'm guessing it won't matter until I do the package anyway. I just thought I would get a ressie for max value rates before the official numbers came out. Am I mistaken?

Edit: The value season starts Aug 9 '09 so that answers that. Guess I'll reschedule later that week for about $250 in savings.
