My wife got bronchitis and I got bronchitis that has turned into pneumonia last week. We were not able to make the trip for the marathon. We were crushed? Anyone have any experience getting their registration fees applied towards the next year's marathon? Assuming I survive (just kidding, but I am rallying very slowly), we want to be ready for next year!

runDisney is usually firm in sticking with the deferral date that was about 2 months back. Saying that, Disney is all about guest experiences and by all means I would send a well worded email to runDisney explaining the health issues that came up late. Its worth the effort but I would not 'expect' to be successful.

Get well and good luck

It might not be a bad idea to at the very least try it...my brother and his wife had to back off the Dopey...she became pregnant after she signed up for it and was too far along to take any risks and my brother had knee surgery just before ... he went to Disney but no running.

I just got over a cold and cough a day or two before I arrived at WDW last weekend to complete the Dopey Challenge. My illness was nowhere near as bad as yours and your wifes and I had some difficulty trying to clear my throat during the races but I managed okay. Sorry you two couldn't make it and I hope you are both feeling better.
