The first fall we had it a family of squirrels moved in.
Then the boat trailer coming off of the hitch and swinging by its chain back and forth until we stopped and it came forward and ripped a hole in the gas tank. (trip over)
Good luck

Phrebert - oh my god!

(Quote) Auggietina Oh I forgot the best story!

When we bought the boat, we had the wrong size ball on the hitch.

The boat came off the hitch and right through the back of our windshield!

We hadn't even gotten it home yet!

But we LOVE our boat and have had some really great times, despite everything else!

Auggietina - OH MY GOD!!!

actually today we took it out on a bigger lake and really enjoyed ourselves. Even took time to go swimming. I think it's just something we have to experience - we did take a boating course, but you just have to try these things to really learn them. (am still rocking a little though):crazy:

Live on the water, been around boats all my life, but as my grandmother says
boat = a hole in the water into which you pour money$$$$.

DH and mine's favorite saying around our buds is "the only thing better than owning a boat is having friends that own boats" LOL

A large group of our buddies each have 30ish foot sailboats and all belong to the same yacht club. We get to sail often enough to satisfy us, but not have the headaches!

BTW, we bring food/drinks etc....no mooching!

Have owned a boat for over 25 years. (bought my first when I was 20) I grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast and have always loved fishing, sking, and just being on the water. However owning a boat is a challenging thing. Every thing always seems to go wrong just when you want to use it. I talked to a boat mechanic one time and he said imagine if you only used your car every other weekend and hardly ever in the winter. Think of the maintenance problems you would have. (Good Point) So the lesson is if you have a boat use it all the time.

Finally me two favorite boat quotes;

Definition of a boat, A hole in the water you through your money into.

The two happiest days in a boat owners life, the day he buys it and the day he sells it.
