Woke up around seven this morning and was going to Targeez but thought I would try out Kmart first. I got their very last wii ! DS9 number 1 christmas list item. They only had 8. I know more will come in but after reading how some have been waiting in line over night, I am feeling pretty good! :teeth: and so glad it is over with!

Congratulations!!! party: :dancer:

Any other lucky DISers receive their gaming systems?

That's great! :thumbsup2

We went to Kmart this morning, they gave out 6 tickets yesterday. However, they only had 3 consoles. We were 7th in line this morning. Then, we hit Target. They had 60, but gave out tickets yesterday. Amazon didn't start the sale until about 10 am or so, I was sleeping then. :teeth: Oh well... :teeth:

DS and DD are playing the bowling game now, and I got to try tennis. It was fun making our little characters; mine looks eerily like me!

Your kids are so lucky. They are playing their wii already!! I keep telling DS that I can't find the wii so if he wants it for christmas he better be extra good so maybe Santa will bring it. ;)

Lucky! The places around here were extremely disorganized and crappy... didn't even tell any of us what was going on. And then radioshack.com canceled my order. :( I don't think I'll get one for a while.

Okay, I know I don't get out much, but what is a wii? I saw the post and thought you were happy about going to the bathroom. This of course, always makes me happy. :teeth:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

The wii is nintendos new video gaming system. That was funny though!! :rotfl:

Our Target was very organized :goodvibes . I got there about 6:30 (brrrr) and there were 60+ people in line ahead of me.... we knew they had 66 systems so my position was iffy at best. They gave out tickets at 7:15 and I got #64 :cool1: . Still didn't get into the store until they opened at 8 but I was out of there by 8:45 - they really had things well organized and people were quite polite and orderly. Target said they'd be getting quite a few in before Christmas but wouldn't necessarily know how many and when FWIW.

My sweet dh went out this a.m. as Wii was at the top of dd10s Christmas list.

Our Walmart opens at 7 a.m. He got there at 6:20, was #18 in line and they had twenty units. We got very lucky and dd will be very happy come Christmas morning.

Now I need to get her a couple of games, would love suggestions!!

I got an order in a circuitcity.com this morning. I think the "buy now" button was only active for about 3 minutes.

It's a Christmas present though, no playing for awhile.

We got ours this morning too. I had stopped at Target yesterday and was surprised no one was in line. I asked the clerk and he said they had 40 units and if we got there within 2 hours of opening, we would probably get one. I saw probably 40 people in line at Best Buy across the street so didn't understand why no one was at Target.

We got to Target at 6am this morning and were in the 35-40 range (we couldn't tell how many people were groups of 2 or more). The first person said they had gotten there at 2am. At 7am, the manager and a security guard handed out the numbers and we were #37. DS16 let out a huge sigh of relief LOL. The manager then said they had gotten a few more in overnight and had 51. The 51st person showed up at 7:40 (what luck!). At 8am, they let us into the store in order. They had the games and accessories on a display and you picked up what you wanted while in line. They had a 'buy 3 games, get a $20 Target gift card". DS bought one Zelda game and I bought him Red something and DragonBallZ for Christmas. Overall it was a very positive experience and I was happy with the way Target handled it all.

DS gets off work in 10 minutes (he was 15 minutes late this morning as he was supposed to start at 8am) and he will be playing the rest of the day (but not the 2 games I bought him). I told him we would check his current grades online and if I felt they were acceptable (A's and B's only), he could skip school tomorrow. He's a great kid and you're only young once.

I do want to say that you take it out and hook it up to make sure it works! :thumbsup2 Another board I was reading said they had to return their Wii....just to be on the safe side, not too mention the "return policies".

 Thanks for the info. My 13 and 14 year olds will probably make me wear a bag over my head because I "should" know these things.

I really do have to get out more, or listen when they talk. :listen: ::yes::

DS15 payed for 2/5 of his, and waited outside in the cold all night for it, so I figure he deserves to play with it!

I have to say, I HATE the music. It drives me nuts. You can get it to play other music on an SD card when you're viewing a slide show from the SD card, but we haven't figured out if you can listen to other music while playing a game, etc. Right now we have the music off.

I'm in central IL and ours opened 7 as well. I also got to WM at 6:20 and was #12 out of 20. My boys don't even know they are getting this for Xmas. DH really wants to "make sure it works".

I already told dh leave it alone, he doesnt need to know if it works :goodvibes I am glad that my dd didnt want a PS3, because a 30 minute wait wasnt bad at all, and the Wii cost less. No way would we have camped out for days to get a PS3.

We got one this morning too. We got in line at Toys R Us at about 5:30 and were first in line! We didn't need to be there so early but we didn't know. Everywhere else had long lines. I guess they didn't think of Toys R Us.
It is really fun! We got excercise while playing video games!
