...it shows as a new separate reservation from my other 2 consecutive nights? Do I just call MS and ask them to link them together so I don't have to move? The reservations are for the same unit type, same resort.

this happened to me for a waitlist that I had a GCV when I called to linked the CM told me that they would have automatically been linked and no need to move...on the contrary everyone on the board will say that you have to have the ressies linked

When you stay in the same sort of villa for points, the reservations are linked. When you have a cash reservation and then are staying for points, you ask to have the reservations linked so you will stay in the same unit. You will still have to go and get new keys in that second case. That's my understanding. I've had waitists extend my stays in the same unit and they've always been "linked."

If off the wait list and it can be linked, it likely already is though I'd check to make sure. The issue is that not every option can be linked, it has to be the exact same size AND room type to be linked. For example, you can't link a 1 BR to a 2 BR and can't link a BWV dedicated 1 BR to a lock off 1 BR even if both the same view type. And even if it's linked, it will not be linked for Dining reservation purposes.
