Got My Waitlist.....Because I Called!

We have a concierge studio at AKV Aug.7-15. DH decided to take another week of vacation, so now I need Aug. 1-7 as well. The only dates open for concierge were Aug. 1 & 4, so I just waitlisted for Aug. 1-7 in a concierge and booked a savannah view. I figured I would call now and again and see if I can add night by night backwards from Aug. 7. If I can't get Aug. 6 then it doesn't matter what other dates are open because I am only moving ONCE.

When I called today the CM told me my waitlist was for savannah view. I am already BOOKED for savannah view! AND they have savannah view available, so it should not have even accepted a waitlist, should it? It was all very strange. She assured me that I am now on the waitlist for concierge. Whatever. I think maybe I should just take the savannah view the first 6 nights and get on with it.

Something similar happened to me...I called to change a reservation for next summer, and I was on the phone, I asked if the waitlist was still active, and they all of the sudden said, oh, your waitlist just came through! While I was on the phone? Hard to believe, huh?

Thanks for posting this. I am booked for AKV savannah view studio Jan 23-25 and BWV PV 1 bedroom Jan 25-29. I am wait listed for Jan 25-29 for a 1 bedroom at BCV. Nothing has come up yet and I have been on the wait list for months. I checked on it twice while calling for other things and they said nothing was available. I am going to call every day now to see if I get lucky like some of you have.

This happened to me on Friday. I was waitlisted for the 15 of Feb (first day of our vacation) for VWL since Sept. I called to see about changing my 1br to a studio on the 15th to save points on the first day. I was told that my waitlist just came through.

I am thrilled I don't have to move during our vacation.
