Got my volunteer signup done!

Update: I added DH to our volunteer opp. Maybe we will do one day at WDW when we go to US/SW/BG this August, or maybe we'll save DS' ticket and mine and donate DH's. Either way I figured it was a win-win. I was just able to add him...they only needed 9 more people for this Sunday! (Now it's 8).

we had several "craft" type items in our area that were starting at age 6. Most of them you could do at home and mail in the product. We made a collection box and collected money for a week. Just wanted to mention, search outside of your area since some can be done by mail!

Can you share more about any of the at home/mail in opportunities you found. My dd is 6 also and I am not finding anything.

I am not even finding much in my state (CT). Because it searches by location from zip code, it is giving me a lot of places in other states.

We were able to find a "virtual opportunity" as well - The Linus Blanket project. Each person needs to make one blanket, document the process with pictures and send the finished products to the coordinator. I have been checking each day to see if something new was added. We plan to make at least 2 blankets per person - or as many as we can by the due date.

I also like the Linus one and am starting a blanket.my closest chapter won't let you send them in, but they are having a blanket day I may be able to attend (70 miles away) the other chapter, in El Paso, may be doing the virtual one, so hopefully I will hear back from then. I could certainly mail them in..OP what Linus chapter are you working with? maybe I can hook up there.

Here is the website for the national organization... maybe folks can search by state - find a chapter - then search that zip on the Disney Give a Day site.

We are in VA - and working with the Charlottesville chapter.

We will be volunteering on sunday. At a local movie theater, making popcorn and selling tickets. Disney Here We Come.

We're signed up with Project Linus, and the kids are really excited to help out. My DD is too little to get a ticket for it, but she's still making a couple of blankets just for the fun of it. Question that I'm sure has already been asked, but I can't find the answer to: It says you can trade in your free ticket toward the purchase of a multi-day ticket at the gate, so I'm wondering if the blackout date says Feb 13-14 (Disneyland), and I get a 4-day pass at the gate using my free ticket toward the purchase on the 10th, for example, does that mean I can't use my extra days on the 13th and 14th as well?

I signed up, volunteered and have my free vouchers ready to go for the whole family. Me, DH, DD7, and DD9 all volunteered at The American Cancer society for only to Hours putting together packets for "Relay for Life". So easy. Since we are in Florida I am thinking we will upgrade our ticket to a 3 day pass and make it a trip for three different weekends, if we add water parks to it.

I just received my e-mail saying my vouchers are ready to print. When I logged in to print, it wants to know which resort (Florida or California) and the day. Does anyone know if this is a generic question, because we're not sure when we are going or which resort.

i just signed up for the blossom opportunity. just wanted to let those that live in northern nj, as i do, that according to the email i just received that not everyone in the family must show up on the sunday.

i live an hour away and it would be a hassle to bring all the kids and my sisters to the site for the drop off. now, one of us can go with all the donations, turn in the sheet and all will be credited for the work done collecting the donations. pretty cool!
