Got my Target BF stuff today!!!!!!

I've been calling corporate customer service since last week and have been told yes they will price adjust its their policy that what they weren't sure was if they would price match.

Did you happen to get the name of the person you spoke with? If so, could you pm it to me? If I have that, I could go back and get the TV. Target is still open one more hour here. I'd need that info though, otherwise my store here says "no way" the computers won't allow it to happen.

Just returned from Target. My friend called me at home from the store while she was scoping out the price adjustment deal. She said that an employee called a manager (Karl) who said they would price adjust on Friday. So, I drive over to the store to get the TV and my friend was going to get the TV and the CoolPix camera.

When I arrived, I spoke with someone in electronics about our plan. He hemmed and hawed not sure it would work, and then called the service desk to let me speak with a manager up there. The manager said the PA wouldn't work for BF 2 day ads. Just to make sure, she put me on hold and called a GSM who told her no, the computer would not let them price adjust an item on a special 2 day sale. She said that if I bought that night and then brought my items back to get price adjusted, if the items were sold out (which they would be) they would be flagged upon the return when the item was scanned to get the price adjustment. She said there's no way to do a PA if the item is sold out on a special ad.

We then spoke with another GSA who was on the floor hanging up big arrows from the ceiling that were pointing at the doorbuster items. He also said that no, the PA would not work. Corporate policy is that they don't honor PA's on 2 Day ads like BF. I asked if it was in writing on the ad and he said if it wasn't, he's sure corporate has it in writing as a policy. He said he knew this from last year. NO PA's on Black Friday items and even if they wanted to, the computer would not let them.

We asked why the other manager "Karl" said we could get a PA and they all laughed and said, "Oh, Karl doesn't know what he's talking about."

So, be careful. Just because someone said they could do it doesn't mean it will happen. Maybe some people will get lucky and find someone at the service desk who will be able to override the computer and do the PA, but we were told it's definitely not going to happen for us.

This was my experience last year. I bought my BF stuff before hand and then went in to have it price adjusted. I had called corporate customer service before hand and I knew they should price adjust. However, when I went in, customer service refused to do it. I made them call a manager who initially refused to do it as well. I insisted they call corporate customer service (that made them real happy!) and, sure enough, they told them to price adjust. So I did get the price adjustment but not without a huge hassle. This year I went into my store to see how much they have of items I want and there are tons. So I think I will be fine going in a bit later on BF morning. I guess I am just not up to engaging in that fight again!

They have price adjusted every year on the 2 day After Thanksgiving sale. Many employees will tell you that you cannot do it because they do not want to be bothered with it and expect you to come in during the sale. The thing is that not everyone that buys the items that will be on sale will do it because they have seen the 2 day ad online. Many have just bought the stuff because it was something they needed or wanted to get anyway.

Sounds like this is going to be a store by store thing. I mean, I realize there has to be a corporate policy but getting the local store to call and find out what it is might be like pulling teeth--especially during all the chaos that is known as BF! Good luck to all.

Well, I went back to Target for the 2nd time and bought the TV and the TomTomGPS for DH. I just bought a Garmin Nuvi on Amazon this morning, so I guess we'll each have a GPS now.

My friend met me back at Target and also bought the TV and two cameras. I found a Target employees message board that also has conflicting outcomes, but most of them said they could do a PA, so I decided to go ahead and try.

My store will probably be very difficult, but I can be also tough when I need to be -- especially when it comes to money.

Good luck to all who did their pre-purchases. I hope we are all successful with PA's on Friday!

well, it will be interesting tomorrow morning! I hope that all of you get the outcome you want! Have a great turkey day!!!

I was also told NO by my Target for Black Friday and they double checked too.. it must be up to each store.

FYI...
Some of the Target BF items are online now... I got the 6 piece luggage set for $34, the Singer quick fix sewing machine for $39 and the Memorex DVD player for $20... plus free shipping! :cool1:

I see that the Nikon CoolPix camera is also online now for $88 and the $250 TomTom GPS is also online for $97.00.

I went to Walmart and asked about one of the 32" tvs that will be on sale. I was told that the BF ones are virtually identical except that they have a different number. So if you buy one on the floor today and try to bring it for a price adjustment tomorrow it will scan today's price not the BF one. They didn't get to be as big as they are by allowing people to scam them.

The TV's are Target are the same ones that have been on the floor for a while. The TomTom GPS and the CoolPix are also the same ones that have been for sale -- no special models. That's why I'm hopeful that the price match at Target will go through tomorrow.

Went to Target this morning. NO PROBLEM, we are happy to price adjust that for you!!!!!:banana::banana:

That was my experience this year too. I'll always follow this strategy for all black friday's to come!!

Well, I have to say that getting my price adjustment at Target for the 32" Westinghouse and the TomTom GPS was...

easy peasy lemon squeezy!!! :cool1:

The nice lady in customer service even did a return and rebuy for me, added in some towels and a rug I was purchasing which brought my total to $300, so I got $30 in gift cards to boot! Oh, and I didn't have to bring my other items to the store to do the return & re-buy -- just the receipt. It was a piece of cake!

Also, at 1:30am this morning I got my BF items from walmart.com and then went to bed and slept in! I have to say that my days of getting up at 3:00am and standing in line in the cold are OVER!!!

I'm so glad I didn't listen to the managers in the store who told me I could not get a PA and I decided to go back to the store late Wednesday night to buy my things and take my chances.

NOT so easy here in Long Island, NY!! I had to argue with the customer service rep, who showed me a hand written sign saying no price adjustments for the 2 day ad. I told them that I could write a sign that says the opposite and have it hold just as much validity. They scanned the receipt to see if it would work & it did but they would not give me the adjustment saying they would get in trouble. I had to call the store mgr & he said it would not be done. I had to have them call corporate who said exactly what I had told them, no adjustments on the door busters, but adjust away on the other items. It was really annoying and kind of embarrassing, but if they don't want to do it then they need to have it in their corporate policy or on their ads.

Just saw this thread and wanted to report that I went to Target at about 3:30 this afternoon with my receipt from purchases made on Tuesday this week. I received price adjustments on all the items I had purchased (none of them were doorbusters, however) with no questions and no hassles. Easy, breezy....and I didn't have to stand out in the cold! The biggest item I got was the Tom Tom GPS unit for $97. :cool1:

Do you have another Target in your area? Had my Target not given me the PA, my plan was to hit every Target in the area until I found a store that would. Just depends on the manager and who is working at the CS counter. I got a nice grandma lady who was really excited at the big savings I was getting. I don't think she even had a clue that the items were the big doorbusters that morning.

One thing my target wouldn't do is price match anything from another add that had a time limit on it. Did anyone else run into this? Walmart had basketballs for 5 bucks but they wouldn't match cause it was a 5-11 special.

We had no problem getting the price adjustment on the games purchased earlier in the week. It was nice because we had also used the $10 off coupon when we bought the games so in the end the LPS Beach game cost $12 each.:mickeyjum
