I normally wouldn't take more than one or two paint samples of a certain color, so when I went to get enough for each suitcase I felt like I was stealing !! I actually looked over my shoulders to make sure nobody was looking !!! Has anyone else felt that way when getting them ?? Also....... maybe a silly question, but now that I have them ... what do I do, laminate or ?? :rolleyes1

Write something on the head in sharpie and then get it laminated- You could write your address... to make a luggage tag.

You should never have a luggage tag that is open for all to see. Luggage tags should be the closed kind that someone has to open to read the name and address. This is for security reasons.

What we do with our Mickey heads is laminate them and attach them to our backpack and fanny packs. I also glue a few onto pin-back buttons and we each wear one on our shirt. We met several DIS folks last trip when they saw our Mickey heads.

I just tagged my luggage with my DCL tags that they sent us and they are just plain tags. Are you saying they should be like folded in half so no one can see the address? I have never been given anything but a plain tag at the airport either.

Most luggage tags do cover the name and address. I have one that doesn't, but you have to be pretty close to read it. One way to avoid a problem is not to use your home address. A work address is a good idea.

I guess the concern is that someone will read the address and know you're not at home. I don't worry too much about it because usually there is someone home even when I'm not.

Just be sure to identify your bags some way in case they get lost. It's important to do this to carryons as well. I've never left a bag behind yet, but it does happen.

The nice thing about something bright like the lime green tags is they make it easy to recognize your bags on the baggage carousel. This is especially important if you have the new, black rolling bags that are so common. I usually choose the oddest looking luggage I can find when buying and most of my bags have unique "battle scars" that make them easy to spot.

Yep, that's it exactly. I'm not usually the paranoid type and honestly don't get too crazy about all the security warnings, but this is so easy to do why take a chance? If your suitcase has your name and home address prominently displayed, its just advertising to everyone that you aren't home.

So go ahead and put your green Mickey heads on your luggage, just don't make that your luggage tag.

LOL. Too Funny! I went to get mine and felt the same way except I didn't know which lime green to get!

I had a hard time deciding which lime green to get too !! I decided on the one called "Sonic Boom" :flower1:

As far as the luggage tags go, I never put my home address on it, instead I write my work address on it. There's always going to be people at work so if my luggage gets lost and is returned, someone at work can sign for it. I put my cell phone number instead of home number. That's a safe way to use luggage tags.

OK dumb question here..... What do you use & how do you make the mickey heads?
You go to home depot and there they have a line of disney paints. Get the alien gree or sonic boom mickey head paint chip and you have an instant DIS color mickey head.

Either cut out or peel the mickey head, laminate it, punch a hole through on of the ears, and voila... instant tags!

You don't have to make the Mickey Heads, the paint samples are shaped like Mickey heads. It's the Disney series paint samples at Home Depot.
