And that sucker hurts! I am a barefoot runner, so it is more a friction between the skin on the toe and the bottom of the nail I guess. It hurt a little my last mile or so, but nothing too bad. 12 hours later it seems to be getting worse! Owie! Any helpful tips? Google seems to tell me to ignore it or go see a doc. It is not bad enough to go see a doc at this point. I was planning on a slow 30 minute run tomorrow. Should I skip that?

But on a happy note, I completed my first 10k training run today. :cool1: And oddly enough mile 5 was my fastest with mile 6 being only 3 seconds slower than mile 5. I am still not at my 10 minute mile goal, but I am shaving seconds off each mile I run, even on my sunday runs (when I increase a mile per week). So I am thrilled!

I'm not sure if this would help in your case, because I don't know much about barefoot
running. But recently I've seen a product at a local running store, I think they were called toe caps. I might have also heard about these from another poster on one of the threads. But I don't remember which one. You might want to check into those to see if they would help.

I don't have any tips of that toenail
but have you consider purchasing Vibram Fivefingers?
It's very close to being barefoot. lots of great reviews

Also, do you run on flat concrete barefoot?
Human feet are not made to run on manmade floors.
