Just had to share my excitement of my 1st postcard. It is for 8/29-9/29 for value resorts start at $49. I am sick over it since I can't use it since we aren't going until November. I am still excited to finally see one of the infamous postcards. My husband thinks I am crazy!!! Offer is non transferable of course, or I would be happy to share!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

I got the same postcard and called for some rates. The thing that confused me is that before giving me rates, she asked how many times I've been to Disneyworld since 1997. It also asked me this before I was connected to someone.

Is this something new, or does the rate you are quoted depend on the number of trips you've made? Does anyone know?

The rates quoted were great, but I'm wondering if they are better or worse based on how many visits since 1997.

I received mine today, 6/23/04. I am hoping to luck out and receive another again in a couple of months. ::yes::

I got one too and unfortunately I can't use it either. Of course it was in DH's name anyway, and he doesn't want to go back for a long time, so even if I got one for a convenient time I suppose I still couldn't use it.

I got one too!!! I was in shock!!! We will be on summer break from school, but do you think I could convince DH we should go??!!! I will probably never get another one again!!! WAHHHHHHHHHHH!

I think you're right. It is based on how many times you've been to WDW. My dd (which is 2!) received one, and the only way they have her name in their database, is because I ordered a vacation planning video in HER name. Of course, I answered that she had only been to WDW once on the questionaire. There is no other reason or explanation that she could have received a postcard! We both got one of these new postcards this week too!

I got it too, but I was hoping it would have some deluxe discounts on it too.
But it made me happy anyway knowing I finally got a postcard :)

I got it too. DH wanted me to call to see if we could use it in May. I told him we couldn't but he still wanted to call. Anyway, I guess he figured I was right because he never did make that call. In '02 we lucked out and got a postcard for the dates we were booked at ASM and were able to transfer over to AKL with a standard view. When we checked in we were very surprised to get an upgrade to a Savannah view. That trip was so awesome. Sometimes everything just falls into place.

Your number of stays is just for marketing and has nothing to do with the rate which you are quoted.

Exactly, the number of stays is for marketing to determine who gets the postcards! (with the good rates!) Of course there are different populations that they choose, for the different drops.

Hmmm...I don't know, but DH's profile says 1 WDW visit and he has received two postcards this year, my profile says 5 visits and I haven't received any postcards ever. :scratchin

Just wanted you all to know that even though the postcard only mentions Value Resorts, it is good on all resorts as I booked a split stay at PORFQ and Poly.

Some of the rates that I was quoted were:
Value Resorts starting at $49
Moderates $79
Wilderness Lodge $109
Contemporary $149
Beach Club $199
Poly $209

:earsboy:

FWIW-

I just booked a 3nt POLY LVC July 25-28 this morning. The CM asked me if I had recently gotten a postcard in the mail?

I hadn't even brought that up yet!! It was a postcard for the 7 for 5 promo.

She quoted me 1020.00 for the 3 nights in GVC. I paid a little extra for the Lagoon view for a total of 1208.00.

How does Disney have a profile of you? We just returned from WDW staying at the contemporary and are planning an April 2005 trip. Yes, the Disney bug has bit us! What is the likelihood of special rates or postcards or public rates for April?
Also, what are AP rates?

Thanks!

As said earlier, Disney 'profiled' my dd (2yo) by my online request for a video, stating that she only had 1 visit.

Re: April rates, that is probably peak season, depending on when you are going. We went at the end of April this year, and stayed at POP for $59 for AP (ANNUAL PASS) rates. I'm hoping for $49 AP rates for our early December trip!! ;)

The Disney bug is wonderful! It makes the world a happier place! :sunny:

I always wonder about this stuff that seems too good to be true. Wonder if it's for a time share deal?

Not sure if you're joking or not, but no, it's for real. It's officially from Disney and it is a great deal for those who can use it. I wish I were one of them, lol.

:bounce: :Pinkbounc I got one too !!, but I just came back 5/28/04 !!. What are the chances that I will get one again, has that ever happened to anyone ? I really really want to go in January 2005. Wonder how they send these out, the price is so unbelieveable !! Please tell me you think I'll get another !!
