Got my DisneyDirect.com cooler today

disneyw/kids: we are putting some beer, wine and water in it to carry-on. I want to be able to have it when we sit out on the verandah and to save some money on board. The free coke is only on deck 9 and with dinner. Disney is one of the only cruiselines that lets you bring drinks on board.

In my experience, the Disney cooler needs to lean back on the spine (where the handle retracts) to go through the x-ray machine..........so pack accordingly.........AND do NOT take ICE in there on embarkation day.........if you are just dying to keep something cold, use those hard packs or something that doesn't melt and leak. If you get water in the X-ray machine and hold up the people behind you, you might not live to board the ship. I just used mine like a carryon but had drink bottles in the bottom of it at room temp.

Okay, my little lecture is over ;)

Thanks for the link and info on this cooler. I think we're going to get one. It'll be great for trips!

I have this cooler as well, but never took it on a plane...has anyone actually flown with it yet and does it fit better in overhead compartment than under seat....to me it looked it it would not fit in the overhead or under the seat....but would love to hear from someone who actually took it on a flight already.

mmouse - i compared it to my other carry-on that I always take and their almost the same size. This carry-on I have fits in the overhead compartment. Hope that helps. I can tell you that it's definitly smaller then some of the bags I've seen people carrying on lately esp our last flight in July to MCO. I can definitly tell you after our cruise sept 10-17.

Oh...I came on to post that mine is very short...let me try it now....Oh way cool....I am so glad I came back to this thread. I would have never known...until Dh figured it out.

I ordered the cooler about 15 min. ago. I can't wait to get mine.

I received my cooler yesterday! I felt like it was Christmas...I was staring out of my window, just waiting for my delivery! Also I bought lots of Christmas presents too...I want to get that out of the way so I can focus on my Mar 2 Wonder cruise!!!! :jumping1:

Does it compress down so that you can pack it away for a flight and then fill it up and use it when you arrive in Orlando?

Or... take ice double-sealed in Ziploc Freezer bags. They will hold the water as the ice melts.

Yes it folds flat a very compact design, just received mine today it is nicer then I expected.

I just received mine and the DGD said she want to use it for her suitcase. It is 15'' H x 14'' W x 12'' D. We put the Dog in and she fit fine. She also gave me the "look"- the what are you doing to me now look.
