Got my D300!

I picked up my D300 yesterday, and I can say only one thing: THIS CAMERA ROCKS!!! I took it almost straight out of the box and went and shot some NCAA hockey action last night and ISO 1600 and 3200 were awesome in terms of lack of noise. The LCD on the back is also amazing.

However, let me say that "lack" of noise is a bit extreme... but before with my D2h/D70 I cringed when I had to go to ISO 1600... but with the D300 I can make some really decent images at those sensitivities. Compare it to this hockey gallery (of my son's Mite game) taken with my D2h at ISO 1600: Link These are post-processed using Noise-Ninja!!!

You dog- I'm still waiting on a tracking number from Beach Camera for mine. It *supposedly* shipped out yesterday.

Nice work though- I'm sure it will only get better as you learn the in's and out's of the camera.

Congratulations! Those images look terrific. I have serious gear envy setting in.

I can't wait to see what Nikon does in the next generation because I'm not going to be able to buy into this one yet
