Just got off the phone with MS, booked a Vero Beach BC for next spring break!:banana:

Since we took this year off from VB, due to our epic Hawaii trip this summer, had the extra points to book the BC for a week!

Congrats!!!

99% of my trips have been in the BC's...I can promise you you'll LOVE it!!:)

Congratulations on VB!

Is this your first trip to Hawaii? When do you go? Which island(s)? If you go to the Big Island I recommend a 1/2 day helicopter tour with Blue Hawaiian if you can. SOOO cool. We have to wait until 2012 to go back...I do miss it inbetween trips...the timing for Aulani was just off for us for 2011 so we will postpone until 2012 and will make do with the Magic in the Med for 2011.

I know we will! DH keeps talking about a VB add-on and this will probably push him over the edge.

We love the GV's at SSR.

Yes it's our first trip and we sort of stumbled upon going to HI, thanks to a sighting on TUG and trying to figure out what to do with an RCI deposit that came along with one of our non-DVC TS purchases. Leaving mid-July for 17 nights.

First a few days in HNL, using my Wyndham points to take advantage of the direct flight from Detroit.

Then the "free week" on the Big Island, just cost me the RCI exchange fee for a 2br @ Wyndham Kona Hawaiian.

Next on to Kauai, for a week at Westin Princeville Resort in a 2br(thanks to our *wood ski week).

Not sure about the helicopter tour, I've heard good things about ones on Kauai and BI, so I'm still trying to figure out it out.

This whole booking process started in November 2008! So it's funny that we are finally getting close.

I'd love to do a cruise again, it's been ages since I've done one. Not to keen on Disney's Alaska route though.

Sounds awesome - I am jealous that you get to stay for so long! We typically do 10 days there. We have only done a day trip to Kauai but have stayed on the others a few times. I can vouch for the Blue Hawaiian helicopter tours on the Big Island as being reputable...we did a tour that cut across the middle of the island from Waikoloa and flew over the Kilauea volcano, landed for a few min. in Hilo for a pit-stop then went on up around the coast to see the waterfalls & northern coastline. A big splurge but simply incredible.:thumbsup2

We chose to do the Med cruise because as much as I'd like to SEE Alaska I don't want to be cold on my summer vacation!! I also think there could be better AK itineraries than DCL's so for the money...we're going to the Med! I can't wait - we'll be adding days pre- and post- cruise for a total of 2 weeks. That is about our limit - I can't imagine having more time than that for one single vacation!!! One year, 3 months, 11 days to go!

Enjoy!!

I'm just stepping in because our Alaska trip, in 1995 had temps in the high 80s. It was the year of terrible heat wave in Chicago, with deaths...I understand what you are saying, but one never knows!

Enjoy your Med cruise. We're going to the Holy Land and Egypt on Princess in 2011.

Starr W I'm glad you got the beach cottage for your spring break! We have 4 nights coming up in one this June! DGD always asks me if we're going to go stay at a "Turtle House" again. Each one is named after a type of sea turtle. Finally, I was able to tell her, it's going to be soon!

Bobbi:goodvibes

I've been to Alaska twice, on Princess cruises in July. One of these days I'll take the kids.

DH got a pretty good sunburn on our first day out sitting on deck reading most of the day.
