We couldn't believe the flights in both directions! We flew from Detroit and yesterday there were 24 passengers and on our flight down, they told us there were 100 empty seats. I overheard a flight attendant tell a passenger yesterday, that they had flown on other routes that were booked solid and that this was just the way it goes. But I've never flown on a SW flight to/from Orlando with so few passengers before!

We arrived back last night too. However, we flew into Toronto on Air Canada, and the plane was completely full! Same thing for on the way down last Friday morning.

Welcome home Julie,

Our flights on Southwest in September were only half full. We were amazed as well. The flight down had all A's so it was less than 60 -- I think it was about 54 or so and the flight home had about 65. We had a row to ourselves and the rows behind and in front of us were empty. It was strange.

Thanks Fiona! Those 9 days sure went fast!

Since I prefer an aisle seat and DH likes a window seat, we don't always get the middle seat to ourselves so all these extra seats around us was a bonus!

I even noticed that the SW line-up to check baggage both in Detroit and Orlando were quite short and there was no long security line-up in Orlando that we've become accustomed to.

We couldn't figure out why SW didn't offer cheaper DINGS to try to fill the seats.

We flew home SW to Buffalo in Sept and there were only 12 people on the plane including us!

We flew down on last Friday and came back on Monday. Both times the flights were full, completely, including all the middle seats that nobody wants.

We returned home on Oct 8th. Flew into Buffalo also. We usually fly SW and the flights to and from Orlando are always full but not this trip. I kept remarking to my DH how strange it felt with so much room to ourselves. I also agree that if there were cheaper Dings, those empty seats would be filled. Better something than nothing. I've been waiting for a Ding for our Christmas trip. Hopefully any day now.

We flew SWA on Oct 4 from Buffalo anf the flight was full only one empty seat. On the way back yesterday we had 98 passengers
