Got harassed twice yesterday about expired fastpasses. Once on grizzly river run and once on tower of terror. They said they'd let it pass this once.

What constitutes harrassment? I have been asked about the times before but it has bever a problem of getting in, many times the CM's asked and smiled. Maybe 1 out of 100 if even that and most of the time it is smooth sailing.

At grizzly the pass was for 10am and we were there at 3pm. She first asked if we were annual pass holders and we said yes. She then said they are going to start going by the actual time because it works so well at Disney world. She then said she would let us pass this one time. It was like she was trying to scare us. We have been here all week and those are the only 2 times it happened.

I would hardly call pointing out the stated rules harassment... Now, if they had stood you at the gate, lecturing you for an amount of time, questioning whether or not you knew the fastpass rules, and wagged their finger at you- I would definitely say you were harassed.

Sadly, inconsistency is everywhere. I know at WDW some people still let expired FPs in, and it makes sense it will start trickling to DL.
It was nice of them to give you a fair warning, so you could know and let the rest of us know as well :)

How the heck does an employee informing you of the chnage in policy, and then accomodating you,...harrasment?

Terminology aside, it's very interesting to hear these reports come trickling in of people being turned away or accommodated with a warning with regard to expired FPs,particularly on RSR. I do believe that FP enforcement is inevitable at DLR. Until or unless a widespread announcement is made, it's best to stick to your return time rather than taking a chance on being disappointed later.

Maybe OP simply chose the wrong word.

I hope they don't change the policy. I've heard DLR kinda prides themselves over WDW with relaxing this "rule". :confused3

So, she informed you of an upcoming change and then let you proceed as you wanted. I would say that is far from harrassment to be fair.

And to be fair to her, the FP DOES have a window. She was just pointing it out.

Hope you've been having a great week,

I have occasionally been told about being well past the return time for many years. Not often but a few times with random CM's. But this has happened to me for several years, nothing new so the question still remains if DLR is going to enforce it like WDW. So far I have not seen anything different than prior years.

If anyone feels they are no accomadated appropriately ask for the "Lead" and speak with him or her. One persons impression is not "policy" and policy can only be dictated by adminstration. Sorry I saw the word harrassment and it caught my eye. Everyone have a great day.

We've actually been almost turned away before from using a FP past the stated time. But, it was because the CM thought we were trying to use the FP before the appointed time.

We did have to point out that the time stamp was AM not PM. :thumbsup2

We've also been reminded occasionally that we need to use the FP during the window printed on the ticket and that we can ride "this time". We just say "thanks" and go on the ride. It happens rarely, but it has happened to us.

I wouldn't stress about it unless and until there is an official announcement by DLR. Then I would be like this :scared1: or this  .

Well, considering that every time I asked at DLR "can we use this after the time" or "is it OK to use this now since it's past the time" the CMs said "oh of course, always, absolutely!" (maybe not all three at once but my quota for quotation marks was being reached, LOL), to be given the *opinion* of two random CMs who certainly aren't being told of impending policy certainly does sound negative!

I'm not worried about it, we used FP outside our window last weekend (we were there basically the same time as the OP) and we didn't have ANY problems using FP outside our windows. Same with my early July trip with DD16, in fact we used a GRR FP 2-3 hours after our window and they didn't blink an eye. Until it gets announced that they ARE enforcing the times I'll continue on the way I do. I've never been denied entry and very rarely do the CM's say anything, in fact usually the CM says something along the lines of us being experienced because we know we can still use the FP outside the window.

You can't really base anything on what 1 or 2 CMs tell you. Every one of them seems to operate by a different rule book. Looks like you just beat the odds and got 2 that day that felt like being strict. I believe most are just near-minimum wage employees and a lot may be new this summer, so I wouldn't expect them to be the most informative and reliable sources, although occasionally some are tremendously helpful and know quite a lot.

Ok. Ok. Harass might be a strong word. She just pulled us to the side and let us know what we were doing was wrong. She said, "in the NEAR future this won't be allowed".

When we there last month, I was waiting for my boys to ride Screamin'. It was around 9 AM, and the wait was listed at about 10 minutes but looked more like 5. I watched a family come up to the CM at the front of the ride and the man asked where to go to use their fastpasses. The CM pointed to the fastpass entrance and checked their fastpasses. Then he looked at the family and told them they could just get in the regular line since it was only a 5 or 10 minute wait and they could save their fastpasses for later. The man holding the fastpasses waved them in front of the CM's face and said something about them needing to be used now. The CM then explained that the fastpass couldn't be used before the window opened but could now be used anytime the rest of the day since the start time had passed. He was telling them they could ride the ride then with a short wait and then use the fastpasses for a second ride right after or even later in the day. The man with the fastpasses looked at the CM for a moment and said something about the fastpass having those particular times on it. The CM actually explained one more time. Then the family took their fastpasses and walked through the fastpass entrance to the ride. The CM just watched them go and shrugged. :rotfl2:

Maybe harassment isn't the right word but it's certainly poor customer service to have CMs making the return time an issue when it's the norm to accept "expired" FPs. My wife was turned away from Splash with an expired FP. My wife even pointed out the return time said AM, not PM and the lady told her that wasn't the issue, it was that the FP had expired. My wife felt embarrassed since there were people behind her listening to the whole exchange and she was made to feel like she did something wrong, as if she was trying to pull a fast one. It was also the first time ever she tried to use a FP beyond the stated return time so she didn't press the issue. Instead we went to Thunder Mountain and used "expired" FPs and all the CM there did was smile and welcome us to the ride. Then we repeated that same experience for the rest of our trip with no additional inquiry from CMs about return times.

We just got back after 4 days at the resort and were never questioned once about our fastpasses which were all several hours old. In fact it seemed that they never even looked at the time as I was a little worried because they were well past the return times. On another note, early entry was awsome! Nobody was at DL until about 10:30 every morning and we could ride just about anything we wanted. It was very warm this week and going in early was really an advantage that very few people seemed to take. We collected all our fastpasses early and came back in the evening when it was a cooler.

Interesting! Thanks to all who have shared your recent experiences with late FP. It sounds like this is more of the same, where a few CMs choose to enforce the window, but far from a new blanket policy. I am sure that if DL decides to go the way of WDW, we will be given notice as they were. Until then, I think it is safe to say that most of the time late FP is no problem. I myself used late FP on RSR multiple times recently with no problems.
