Last night on my way to bed I thought I'd just have a quick peek at what airfares were doing for our December trip to WDW. Yes, it's way early but I've been looking anyway.

If I'm pressed for time I'll just do a quick search on travelocity.ca because it shows several aitlines at once and is a fair indicator of prices. So I tried a flexible dates search and our dates were blacked out but close ones were showing. I tried the dates that I could get and I saw a total for the four of us that I haven't seen in many months! They were on United so I checked with united.ca and no luck. Then I tried aircanada.com (a codeshare partner to United) and there they were...even lower fares at better times for us! But "unfortunately" we'd have to stay at Disney a couple of days longer!

After blinking in disbelief I woke up my wife to confirm this was what I was indeed seeing and she saw it too.:dance3: I grabbed the seats as fast as you can say "Mastercard" and we were done!

Flights for four of us: Edmonton to Orlando Dec 21 to Dec 30 2009 for $563pp CDN! Wow!:rotfl2:

Today, those same flights are over $1500 more. We are so happy.

AWESOME!!!! That is a great price...WOW.

Worth waking the wife for eh?!?!?

Good, I love when people get a good deal.:thumbsup2

Bravo - you got a great deal! :thumbsup2

What airline are you flying with?

Thanks, all, I still don't quite believe our luck!:cheer2:

The flights are with UnitedExpress/United through Denver both ways. We leave Edmonton at 6:35 AM and arrive Orlando 4:16 PM. The return leaves at 6:20 PM and arrives Edmonton at midnight. A lot of people bash United but these days most US carriers are about the same. WestJet would have cost us twice as much.:scared1:

This is exactly what happened to me today also. I have been hunting flights to Palm Springs. Out of desperation I went to the AC website to check for what days and times they flew out. Lo and behold there was this unbeliveable price. I had to bump my schedule ahead by one day there and back but managed to save 50% on my flight today!:yay:

Fantastic! Sounds like AC had some sort of limited time sales rotating through some of its routes. I keep looking at the printout to be sure it's real!:rotfl2:

Congrats on getting the flights you wanted! I agree with your statement above. United is going to start twice daily service to Denver from Regina beginning in July. I'm all for it. We currently only have NWA for a direct US link right now so it is great for another US airline to start flying out of here.

Thanks, I guess I'm still pretty pumped about this even though I'm home with a head cold today. I'm glad that our neighbours to the east will now have more choice! Canadians living near border airports have no idea what little we have in choices and what we pay to fly south from here on the prairies.

Airline travel today is what it is. I don't know anyone who hasn't been stuck overnight in Salt Lake City when flying with Delta. Others will fly only Delta. Some people claim that United will lose every piece of luggage you've ever owned, yet the only person I know who has actually lost luggage lost his on WestJet. Canadians love to hate Air Canada but some very experienced European travellers love them.

It all comes down to individual taste, tolerance, and what your personal experience is:).
