We have been trying to find someone to rent our reservatin for spring break cuz the airfare for the 4 of us was over $2000. we have tried every configuration including flying into Tampa, layovers, etc. with no luck. Yesterday, DH check out Continental flying from Newark into Tampa and we were able to get it for $1236! If I was willing to fly at 6AM, it would have been $80 less than that. so, for those of you hoping for better fares for April, maybe this is a good sign...

good god...I hope so! I have been trying for two months to get decent fares from Manchester, NH to Orlando for late April. I've tried every conceivable combination of days/times/airports/etc., and I still can't get a decent fare!

I am going to keep trying then. I am looking to fly to Orlando right after
Easter, and I can't find anything less than $400 a person. Hopefully this means the price will drop.:thumbsup2

Your break is a week after MA?? Airtran out of Logan is showing a price of $87 down and $94 back.

We'll be there same time as you!

Right now, we are planning on driving since there is six of us going. We're stopping for two nights on the way down and one on the way back. Since we're taking the Suburban, the gas will be the biggest expense. I am assuming $3.50/gal which will put us at about $700 for the gas. Add into that a total of 6 hotel rooms/nights at $100 each and about $200 worth of food, and our driving cost is only about $1500 for 6 people.

I am not thinking that we can fly any cheaper, especially since we arrive the night before Easter. I keep checking AT and SW out of Detroit and Chicago and they are still well over $300 each. I won't even bother checking the GR airport. They are always WAY to high and never non-stop.

IF we can get AirTran for $250 round-trip, I can probably convince my parents to fly. I am not holding my breath since the fares are currently about $450.

We booked AT a couple weeks ago at just over $200pp after seeing the prices continue to climb.

If you are willing to drive a few hours, check AT out of BMI or STL as these smaller markets' demand takes a bit longer to start filling planes thus they raise fares a little slower.

Can I ask what dates you used? I guess it's not the worst thing in the world to go out of Logan (actually, it just might be...lol!)
