Got Cruise Docs But Have a Question

We are so excited - we received our cruise docs yesterday for our August Cruise -- very first (but not the last) Disney Cruise!!!!!!!!!!!

I do have a question. I have read all the great info on these boards - more helpful than I can say - one suggestion is to take a softside cooler and some of your own drinks (beer, pop, wine etc). In the Info packet with the docs, it states that you cannot carry on a cooler unless for medication etc...How do you get around this rule? I even asked Disney reservations about bringing drinks and they said it was ok. I would hate to get to the Port and have to leave the cooler. Any suggestions?

No hard coolers are allowed and as long as it fits thru the x-ray machine your fine. Disney does NOT want food brought on board. Drinks are fine though.

Thanks so much Sdoane -- do you know what size softside cooler you can take - I should check the booklet because I think it gives dimensions for carry-on bags. We have a really small one but I was thinking of getting a bigger one.

Can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The X-ray machine they use is basically the same as one you would find at any airport. So...... if your carryon cooler can go through airport security, it will also make it through the machine at the DCL terminal.
