Aside from enjoying the point difference, is there any particular room I should request? Does anyone have a map to show where the rooms are located?

The standard rooms are located along the driveway as you approach the entrance. You will have nice views of the grounds and across to the BWI. Don't worry about noise from the driveway because the resort curves away from the road. While most people prefer to be close to the elevators, we like to be a little further away to get a better view. Sometimes you can even catch the upper fireworks from Illuminations. Our last standand room was a dedicated studio next to the vending room and stairs that led to the Luna Park Pool.

Or you may get a villa that's "around the corner" from the driveway. They have nice views of the bridge, the duck pond with a fountain and the canal that goes to the Studios. There's quite a bit of foliage blocking the parking lot. We didn't really even notice it. We could see fireworks from Illuminations and Fantasmic.

A plus for this area is the exit-entrance on the first floor (works with your room card). It's very handy for getting to the bus stop, the walkway to the Studios or the parking lot - you don't have to traipse all the way back through the lobby. Just don't step on the geckos! They live in the bushes.

Here's the view slightly to the left from our balcony. The canal is to the right. We were on the second floor right over the exit. It was a nice view.

We had a first floor room not too far from the lobby. Which means our view was the sloping lawn up to the driveway. Not much of a view, but great pool access.

we have stayed at the standard view room(one bedroom) and when you looked out the window it was adjacent to the bus stop.We had 2 balconeys, one facing epcot the other we saw mgm.It was great being so close to the bus stop and watching the fireworks shows from the balconey. You dont see everything but you see the high stuff. This room is a long walk from the lobby but we always came in through the side door after getting off the bus, also no elevator so we asked for 2nd floor.

Thank you for all of your replies!

I think I got it! Second floor near the bus stop or closest to the tennis courts?
My son and I play tennis so that would be good. It is good to know you can just use your key to get into the building without having to go through the lobbby.

I can't wait to go. This is like a dream come true!

In Oct had rm 3133, long walk to elevator. View was of pond by tennis courts, also could see late to MGM. Not a bad view at all. It was a studio though.

I had a standard 1 Bdrom view last month that looked directly at the Swan, the canal and a part of the new croquet lawn! :)

I'd forgotten about that area! Isn't that what used to be the sales office/unit? Now it's villas?

We just came back from Studio Rm #2132. down the very very long hallway from the lobby. We overlooked the community center, quiet pool and the jacuzzi. It was a preferred room. We went right down the stairs and were very close to the tennis courts. Made a right and went to the main pool and made a left and walked about 10 minutes to MGM. Have a great trip.

standard room at bwv is the best...hard to get but if your lucky enough to get it you'll love it...cant beat the points you save.

I totally lucked out on getting that standard 1 bedroom. Someone must have cancelled. I just happened to call and I was told that both the standard and preferred were available - so you know which one I picked. The only bad thing is I have to stay in a studio the following week at BCV. Wish I could have had the studio first and 1 bedroom next. Oh well. I will just go on the dining plan so I will not have to think about cooking anything :)

FYI - I believe the rooms at the end of the second floor are smoking. The best standard 1 bedrooms are the ones on the corner, right above the pond (2123, 3123, 4123). They are extra large. See my post from when I stayed in 3123:

I've stayed in standard 1 bedrooms 3 times and all had great views. One was across from the bus stop on the 4th floor, one was next to 3123 (3121) and then 3123. I always requested top floor, across from the bus stop.

DebbieB - we LOVE those "corner" standard villas! Love the size and layout. And all the big french doors. Too bad there's so few of them.

Nice Pics, DebbieB.

I was looking at DebbieB's pictures and it seems like there are rooms on the first floor.
Has anyone ever stayed on the 1st floor, or are there no rooms there?

We just had a standard view room on the first floor. Nice for pool access. View wasn't great, basically the first floor is downhill from the driveway by almost a story. We didn't get much use out of our first floor patio....the kids got a little.

yes, we had first floor 1bedroom last time we were there and the veiw is a giant bush...good access to the pool and the walkway to the bus stop but not good if you want a nice veiw. we're rarely in the room anyway so it didnt matter to us. in my opinion its not worth the extra points for a better veiw...but thats what i like about bwv, its the only dvc where you can get lower point values for standard veiws..

They are Terrible views. You wouldn't like them. Don't reserve them. Save them for me to reserve for my vacations;;) I don;t mind them so much

Like Pooh, I'm feeling like a bear with little brain...

the "good" standard 1 BR's (and hopefully studios too) are way @ the end of the hallway?

Not that I ever get the special room requests (other than NS) I ask for @ WDW. Will try again @ check-in, hoping for a good view; what should I mention?

DebbieB - your pics make we want to ante up for a 1 BR - great views.
