I asked for quotes for an October 14, 2006 sailing on the Magic for 2 adults and these are the best offers I received

Cat 11 $1676
Cat 9 $2018
Cat 6 $2498

I have only had inside staterooms before and I have always been pleased with them.

I plan on cruisnig in June 2005 in a category 6 so I'm pretty sure I'll love haiving a verandah.

But I've seen some great pictures of the porthole rooms on deck 2.

So now I don't know what to do. If I pick the category 11 option, I'll be more likely to do multiple spa appointments, etc.

If I pick the category 6 I'll be more likely to make a point to sit around the room and enjoy it.

Not a huge financial difference to us either way . . . just can't decide.

Opinions?

Go with the Cat 9 and enjoy some spa treatments. We had Cat 9 room 2016 and LOVED the room!!!!

I never realized the pretty big difference for an inside cabin compared to one with a verandah. We sailed in 2001 on category 6 with a verandah, it was very nice, just don't think we used it as much as we should have. (We had a 3 year old at the time.)
We are going in May 2005 on a land/sea package and staying at the Beach Club, so it ended up being a verandah room again.
I think if I didn't have one, I would miss it. Just make sure you make a point of using it, then you won't feel so bad about the extra money! Enjoy!!

Hmmm...If you are going for the cat 9, my vote would be go the extra mile and get a 6. If you are happy with an inside then go with the 11 and save money.

I would go with the 11 or the 9. We had a cat 6 our first cruise and loved it, but on our last cruise we booked connecting 9s because I was paying for 2 cabins. I was very apprehensive, almost certain we wouldn't enjoy our cruise as much because we wouldn't have the verandah. We loved the 9s...great view and very convenient...we were aft and it was a quick trip up the stairs for dinner or an easy walk to the room if we'd been ashore. We have a cat 7 booked for the August repo cruise and if I could I would change it to a 9 or 11 and save money...that is not possible because DCL isn't allowing changes on reservations unless the current rate is paid.

Great Prices!

Hard choices.

Not how the Verandah costs 50% more than an inside cabin? (It's 25% more than the Porthole.)

Does it add 50% more to your Trip?

You need to decide.

One difference between the 9 and 11 is the split bathroom. My dh is a bathroom hog, so that would be the deciding for me. YMMV.

I would go for the 9, we had a 10 last time, and I realized how much I missed having natural light. We are booked in Cat 9 for our next 2 cruises......
