We just got back from our week long trip to Disneyland and we had a blast. most of the fiftieth stuff was still there but looked really faded from when we went in May 2005. The lines were all pretty short. The longest line we had was for food on Saturday night. Once again we left with a list of things we wished we had done but as DH pointed out, it just gives us a reason to come back.
The halloween stuff looked great! I even noticed a couple pumpkins put in splash mountain
I honestly thought there would be more of it though. DCA has almost no halloween stuff except for the villains show. I also thought they'd have more halloween merchandise, but I did get a pretty cool snow globe.
I have come to the conclusion that I won't waste my time waiting for fantasmic and probably won't see it unless we buy the reserved seating. We picked a dumb place (the french market restaurant) to camp out and had a great view of the island; until everyone stood up on those foot tall brick walls around the fences. Nothing like waiting for an hour to have some guy in a giant hat stand on a wall directly in front of your child five minutes before the show starts
After that experience I'd say spending $60 each would have been well worth it.
Overall we had a GREAT trip though. Rode the tea cups too many times to count since it's ds's favorite ride. Also got a great view of the fire works on main street that required no camping out ahead of time. The crowds are pretty light right now and we managed to walk on to Space Mountain and Splash; we would have walked on to pirated but DS got to the boat and got really scared so we scrapped that plan.
