Got back last night and am disappointed..

I'm confused about what Disney did in regards to your passes.

I stayed at Wilderness last July and missed a complete day due to food poisoning and Disney gave my wife and I passes that were good for 10 years. We just used them last week.

Sorry your trip didn't go as planned, sometimes accidents happen. It sounds like maybe a trip as a single parent with your kids special needs might be too much for one person to handle at this time. Maybe wait until they get older and then you can reuse those hopper passes. God Bless.

Oh come on..... all he did was complain here and even said he would be going back. It's not like he SUED them or anything, for crying out loud.

Sorry about your wrist and your trip not working out at all as you had planned. I hope next time all your "dreams come true". :)

sorry to hear about your accident while in WDW...but it was an accident and WDW didnt' actually cause it right? so why wouldn't you stay on property again? i'm just not understanding this part...it really could have happened anywhere, on property or off property or simply anywhere like i said...i wouldn't let this change my mind about staying in disney next time around...maybe you should re-think your decission?

Well, I wouldn't expect Disney to PAY for anything, but I would expect them to be helpful. To do things like try to figure out how the OP could get her meds and maybe help with contacting the airlines. Maybe the all stars are not full service resorts, but you sure pay enough to stay there & I would hope they would be more helpful.

Do be happy that you have park hoppers. I remember a poster who had a full package with wishes and wasn't able to use them because of a back injury. I don't think they got any money back. :(

And I want to say that if anyone came here (or to the family board) and asked, can a single parent handle the trip with 2 9 year olds?, most of use would have said yes.

I hope your next trip goes better!

I think that the POV stated by RickinNYC is right on. I agree with other posters that WDW staff appeared to assist appropriately.

I wrestled about whether or not to mention this, but I think it is pertinent.... How can one have the money to vacation at WDW but not be able to afford medication, even if it is terribly expensive? WDW is terribly expensive. That doesn't seem to make sense to me... I'm not making a moral judgement here, but it seems that logic would dictate that one not blame WDW because of poor planning. Yes, the broken bone was an accident, but isn't it important to have some $$$ or credit available for contingencies when traveling, particularly with kids?

Bless your heart. I hope your children have some good memories of the trip and you get back soon!:D

Sorry to hear about your accident. That would be horrible to get hurt on vacation. I hope you and your children get to go back soon and have a wonderful time!:D

Actually, there may be some misinterpretation of the OP's post. Flying someone down sounds like an interpretation of one of the travel insurance benefits CRO offers with the packages. If the OP did have this insurance, then she has every right to be upset if she was denied. However, it's the insurance company that would be the correct target of wrath.

Perhaps this is what happened?

Ciao,
Mort.

I am so sorry to hear about your unfortunate accident. At least the Hoppers don't expire. I wish you bunches of luck and fun on your next DW trip. It truly is the happiest place on earth, but not when you're hurt!

Congratulations to you for even thinking about taking two special needs kids. My mouse ears are off to you!

You had a "slip and fall" at a Disney Resort, broke your wrist, and Disney refused to accomodate you?

I hope you're seeking some legal advice.

I'm so sorry about your accident. I hope you can return soon. I must take my hat off to you. I don't think I would be brave enough to drive with two special needs 9 year olds!
POD for a speedy recovery.

It's unfortunate that you broke your wrist, but I don't feel that Disney was responsible to fly someone down to drive you home. Most pharmacies take credit cards-couldn't you have charged the meds. There is also a pharm that delivers to WDW for an extra charge. When we were on vacation a few years ago I got conjuntivitis at WDW and had to pay the doctor and the med because it was Thanksgiving and I couldn't contact my PCP for an ok. I obviously caught it there and never thought they should do anything for me. It certainly is your right to write and vent your frustration, but you chose to stay in the room rather than purchase a pain med. It's a shame your children didn't get the vacation hoped for.

I was thinking the same thing.

just wanted to say thanks for all of your responses. I had surgery and hve 7 pins in my arm, 2 in my hand 3 in my arm and 3 holding the bones together in my wrist (sorry if I digusted you). This contraption has been in/on for 5 weeks, have another 4 to go. I did write a letter to Disney and am editing it and sending it to the important people. Do I want to sue, of course not, just want an apology for how I has treated. As I said I did not tell you all that happened, just "brief" version of the events of the 4 days there.

BTW, it only cost 366.00 for the vacation for us there (which in my opinion was not expensive)

Anyway, thanks again for your kind words.

Blondie

I'm very sorry to hear about your surgery! That must of been a terrible fall you took! I'm sure you will hear back from WDW.

Please tell us how you spent 4 days at WDW for 366.00? You flew there and then had to rent a car, you stayed at the AS and bought park hoppers. How could all of that only cost 366.00?

nope sorry, actually the hotel was 311.00 (with the AAA discount) and I rented a minivan and drove there and back from Philly. It was 199.00 per week and I only bought 1day hopper passes from e-bay. It costs about 500.00 for the trip not including gas which was about 100.00

thanks
