got an upgrade call

DCL called yesterday and asked us if we wanted to upgrade from cat 4 to cat 3. I said sure if the price is right. They said $2,000 something (quit listening after $2,000). Anyway they said if we change our mind maybe we'd be lucky and be able to upgrade at the port. Do you think it will still cost the same? Does anyone ever get upgrade from cat4 to cat 3 for free? It sure looks like a NICE room for the five of us, but the $$$$$$$ geeeeez.

Sounds like they have someone who wants the cat 4 or maybe the 3 cancelled. They should give you more of a break in price if they want the room filled.

When are you sailing? I would assume if no one takes it and they need a cat 4 they will eventually give it to someone for free.Just MHO though

That seems high ask when you get to port we upgraded from a 4 to a 3 it cost us $800 in September it was well worth the 800 but 2000 seems crazy.

We were offered upgrade from 4 to 3 at port for just under one thousand (seven day Magic, this September). Two thousand also seems high to me.

If you are considering trying to do it at port, get there EARLY and ask right away

I did a quick check on allseastravel (they are the only one I know of that lists the cat. 3 prices) the only cat. 3 I saw was for march 6th and that was 8037.00 for five people, the cat.,4 was 6717.00 so it would be an increase of only $1320.00 now if you are going at a peak time the price would be more. As much as I would love to go in a cat.3 (someday I will-probably when DS is off to college ) 2000.00 is a lot of money. I am sure you will have a great time in your cat. 4 ! Who knows maybe you will get a better offer at the port?
